Forty years later, and the Syrians still haven’t learned their lesson!

Do they really think we would just sit back if they made a play on the Golan Heights?

Any bets the defense for this one ends sooner and is more overwhelming than last summer and a bit shorter than 6 days?

Napalm a 1 mile wide DMZ?
Think that would dissuade them?

I have NO confidence in Olmert and Peretz's capacity to defend Israel. They can't even deal with simple rocket attacks on Sderot. What are they going to do when the Syrians start barreling down the Golan Heights? I don't think Israel is prepared for another war with those two clowns at its helm.

Well, if it was a surprise once, it sure isn’t anymore, or we wouldn’t be hearing about it.

Olmert wasn’t Prime Minister 40 years ago, and Peretz wasn’t Defense Minister.
This threat has been on the horizon ever since Olmert’s disastrous mishandling of the incursion into Lebanon, a battle he seemed determined to lose.
Whether or not it is true, he (and Barak before him, with his shameful retreat from south Lebanon, plus Sharon’s pullout from Gaza) has given the Muslims the impression that Israel is weak. If you appear strong, you may not have to fight. If you appear weak, you constantly have to fight to prove that you aren’t.
I hope Israel finds some way to pull up its socks before they have to go through another round of fighting.

With Ohmert still the Prime Minister ... I wouldn’t expect you to win that bet. If Bibi were in there .... well, if Bibi were in office Syria wouldn’t be stupid enough to rattle its sabre’s like this. Syria’s bravado is fueled by Israel’s political weakness and ineptitude ... and I would expect such ineptitude to become a roaring Lion overnight.

The real surprise would be the tactical nuke shoved up their asses. God bless our brothers and sisters in Israel...
To: Fennie
What a surprise it will be! Only WorldNetDaily in their 2000 mile deep cavern in Colorado knows about it.

There’s a lot of blustering in the Middle-East these days but none of the countries have the guts or ability to strike Israel in any major way.

Do they really think we would just sit back if they made a play on the Golan Heights? As gunshy as the Administration has become, I am beginning to think we might.

While WorldNet is spotty at best, the possibility of war with Syria and Syria’s preps have been widely reported by many news outlets.
Doesn’t mean it will happen ... but WorldNet isn’t the only one reporting this.

Consider the source. I really don't think Syria is willing to sacrifice itself as a distraction for Iran. America has traditionally stood with Israel and if requested, would intercede on Israel's behalf.
Maybe we could talk the staff at the NYT into becoming human shields?
