I spent almost a year in the gulf and the realy deep water was in the South. The farther North you go the more shallow it gets.
I was on a USNS tanker and really didn’t like the shallow water. The larger ships didn’t go into the gulf, onlt the smaller gun boats.

I just volunteered to go to Afghanistan for a year because they went through 3 other guys that couldn't pass the physical! Sooo, I head back home for Army training and then back over here. I wish you were coming back to Iraq so we could hang out once in a while.

Be safe in Afghanistan and stay in touch. I have a couple of friends working there. If you're near them, I'll try to introduce you. They're not right in the head, either (well, of course....they ARE in Afghanistan), so you should get along with them just fine. ;-)
