What a crock of horse apples. When I buy online from places that operate in Utah, I pay sales tax. I don't recall a site that doesn't have that "disclaimer" that says, residents must add XX% sales tax.
This is the ages-old wet dream for politicians come true. Should this come to pass, these guys and gals will spend every waking moment (and more than a few sleeping moments) figuring out how they can extend their reach into our wallets and pocketbooks.
Just like that other friend of the consumer, the banking industry.
CA....
While I’m against taxes, I’ve been paying Sales taxes online for years now and the world hasn’t ended.
The real issue I see is the local jurisdictions sticking their fingers into my pocket for my connection. That really torques me off. It’ll mean someone gets tribute from me, and I won’t see a damn bit of difference, and neither will anyone else unless they live next to a politician who just added on to their house and got the 3rd Mercedes.
