Typical Newsweak hit piece.

I don't see them writing sniffy articles about the laziness of Hillary, Obama, or Edwards - none of whom have done squat in the Senate, either (thankfully!).

oh, all bets are off when it comes to the service industry. mcdonalds should be quick no matter where you happen to be. but the south still has a sense of charm that is mistaken for laziness.

It has always been a wonder to me that nobody ever mentions that the media labels all Republican either as corrupt, lazy, or stupid, yet no one hears anything bad concerning a Dem. Do people actually exist who believe the liberal left is comprised of only saints? Can anyone cite the last time the read, heard, or saw the media label a Dem as either stupid, lazy, or corrupt?

The Bible teaches that overworking is just as sinful as underworking.

The word for “lazy” in the Bible is often a word used to describe the string on a bow — a word meaning “slack”. In other words, we can be actually “working,” but in a slack manner.

Further, the idea of overworking is almost lost on Americans. Especially the Type-A politicians who spend every morning, evening and weekend focused on their goals.

God rested on the 7th day after creating the world. He expects us to, as well.

To not rest properly is just as sinful as murder, theft, or adultery.

THE POINT

The point is, when we are truly relying on God instead of ourselves, it is easy to sit back and rest, look at our accomplishments, and stop working.

When we are relying on ourselves, enough is NEVER enough. We strive and strive, pushing ourselves, and neglect our families and the study of God’s word.

I don’t know Thompson’s heart or faith, but — if what we hear is true — I find his approach more Biblically sound and Godly than most politicians’.

Liberals see other liberals as normal and acceptable just because they are liberal, and of course in order to be a liberal by definition, there are no boundaries. However, if you aren’t a liberal, then you are already flawed. And your flaws stand out. Pretty stupid, huh?

BDS alert . . . life as a one-trick pony must be boring.

Bush Derangement Syndrome? You are right, he is indeed deranged. At least when it comes to this amnesty bill.

“i live in manhattan. i have driven across this country twice. there is a difference in the speed with which people from the north and the south do things. it’s not laziness. it’s actually northern conceit, IMHO.”

This is absolutely true. Good point. I wish I could get back to a little slower pace. But I live in Los Angeles, so....

“I will say that the pace is too slow for me in places like Jamaica, Aruba, the Virgin Islands etc. it shouldn’t take 1/2 hour to get a beer.”

Have you ever ordered a draft beer in a gasthaus in Germany? Better order two the first time.
