has anyone read the Joel Rosenberg books? (Last Jihad, Last days, Ezekiel Option, Copper Scroll?) In the book the former head of the Mossad makes the case that American Inteligence isn’t as good as the Mossad because of our inabililty to believe that there is real evil at work in the world. Though it’s fiction this really resonated with me. I like that FRed (Like Bush) sees evil.

I think the best person here on FR for good information on Fred is ( Political Mom ) she has a vast collection of information on Fred Thompson.
To be frank, constitutionally speaking, the only requirements to run for President is ? 1 # you must be over 37 years old.
2 # You must be a natural born US citizen of the USA.

I hear you what you are saying, but, even if he has not real glaring accomplishments , he still is the right person to lead this country... he has a vision, a will, clear thinking with wisdom mixed in and common sense.
He wants to bring back government to the way it was intended by our founding fathers ( a almost impossible task.
He feels this government is still for the people, of the people, and by the people.

One of his famous quotes from his Lincoln club speech :

Fred Thompson " I believe that Government is to important to leave ( Responsibility ) it up to the government " ..

he was taking a jab at government that the responsibility of government should be left up to the people like you and me... the way it was originally intended to be.

It’s more important that Thompson would just say that he plans to enforce the constitution, and secure our borders. We don’t need any more “Axis of Evil” info. GW did that, and look where we are. The Feds have two mandates: provide for the national defense, and secure our borders. If he would run on that platform alone, he could win.
