Just a passing note for you gullible morons too busy to do your own research and too ready to believe anything you read from the leftist drive-by media. HIV is a harmless passenger retrovirus and does not cause AIDs. AIDs is not a sexually transmittable disease. But continue to go on believing this fairytale!

$30 billion will buy a pretty good NATIONAL FIRE FIGHTING FORCE......... and "that" would be a genuine legacy!

How many border fences could this money (now going into a bottomless rathole) erect to prevent the epidemic of illegals pouring into this country - the epidemic which is going go result in our demise?

The only ones who can: the remaining tax-payers aka baby-boomers.

“Africa needs Christianity, and this program is one tool to make that happen. So let us control our southwestern border and use the money not spent on subsidizing illegal immigrants to give hope to some children.”

What a load of steaming b***s***.

Get your damn church to fund it then. I want no part of it.

As a Jew do I get a refund of this part of my taxes?

You can’t ‘treat’ AIDS. There is no cure.

I guess you want the infected to live longer and infect more people. Next round - 100 billion dollars of our blood and treasure.

Good thing the US is so perfect we can give away billions!

Where is all of the monies from the Gates Foundation via Warren Buffet? They want to save Africa. Let these freaks sink their Billions in that rat hole continent.

This money is going to go to the same place the vast majority of all aid to Africa goes, into the Swiss bank accounts of the local kleptocracy. It’s not going to spread Christianity, it’s not going to buy us friends, it’s not going to keep the Islamofascists at bay and it’s not going to keep people from dying of AIDS. Our hard-earned tax money is going to enrich despots so Bush can feel good about his pathetic self, and I for one have about had it!

Bush, you want to help people in Africa, spend your own millions, not my childrens’ and grandchildrens’ money!

“Word of God trumps Constitution.”

The FR Taleban speaks!

If God is talking directly to you and saying that the Fed Gov needs to go into deeper debt for a $30 billion giveaway to dictators and drug companies for drugs that don’t cure anything and can cause more harm than good, then you need some meds of your own.

I agree with you. And government isn’t the solution; government is the problem. (Ronald Reagan said it.)

Then may I direct you to Exodus 20:15, Matthew 19:18 and Romans 13:9?

While you and Jorge are busy being all Christian and compassionate with other peoples’ money, may I remind you that forcibly extracting money from one human being under penalty of fines and/or imprisonment in order to give that money to another is stealing?

You bet. This is a lot of money that if we had it we could spend at home. Our seniors, our infrastructure, our military, pay raises and equipment, also some of that could go to this Iraqi war debt.

Here is “the story” as I understand it: AIDS is a homosexual disease in the United States. AIDS is a heterosexual disease in Africa. End of story.

This story never made sense to me. Africa is far away, but I think chemistry, biology and medicine work the same way. Inquiry on this matter is not politically correct.

One explanation is differing sexual practices. However you approach this, it is a sensitive topic. I read another explanation in Tom Bethell’s book, the Politically Incorrect Guide to Science.

He writes that in America we find the HIV virus before making a determination of AIDS. In Africa this is not as practical. So it has been agreed that one looks for a group of symptoms consistent with AIDS. However, these symptoms are consistent with other health issues/diseases that are more common in Africa than in the U.S., such as malnutrition, and unsanitary water and their consequences. I think many parties are eager to shout AIDS because doing so makes the money flow. “We’ve all got AIDS” and need a cure is an argument that apparently makes sense to liberals. Wouldn’t it be terrible to give someone a shot cocktail of antibiotics when all they need is clean water and a few good meals?

A better approach than taking $30 Billion and taking credit, would be to make charitable contributions tax deductible. He could also use the bully pulpit and explain why this was an especially effective and good contribution.

Not every African country is a corrupt dictatorship, and a properly structured aid program would ensure at least a majority of the funds directly helped those with this terrible disease. Namibia, Botswana, and South Africa belong to the free and prosperous world as much as Mexico, Bulgaria, and South Korea. High mortality due to human immunodeficiency virus and associated societal complications alone holds back these three African nations from entry into the First World. These countries support rampant corruption and other evils on the same order as our own country. Other countries like Lesotho, Ghana, and Benin recently began to embrace freedom. Not every African country is ruled like Zimbabwe, Congo, and Equatorial Guinea, and we shouldn’t give aid to perpetuate anarchy, communism, tyranny, and dictatorship therein.

"I am sick to death of this man, HOW MUCH longer do we have to tolerate him? Every day he sinks to a new low, just when you thought he could NOT do anything more stupid than he did yesterday, he does. Don’t get me wrong, I voted for him, I’d just like to know where the testosterone filled Bush is? What has happened to him? What the bleep is going on with him? "

Perhaps part of it may be he's trying to appease the Left of the World, BUT they CONTINUE TO DESPISE President Bush !!

Isn't this just great, MORE of OUR MONEY going towards people who are irresponsible - NOW WE GOTTA PAY FOR IT !!!!!!!!!
