“”47 Mexican consulates around the country...””
What! I’m shocked by that. I don’t know why I am but I am!
Folks this must be what the last days of the Roman Empire was like. God help America and its citizens.
Actually, quite a few people do... and a lot of us U.S. citizens. With much lower costs and less paperwork, the Mexican facilities are often a realistic alternative for those of us on the border. And Mexican doctors tend to practice “preventative medicine”, talking with their patients, working out a way to live with their health problems.
I was an “illegal alien” in Mexico for about a year (until I got around to getting the right visa) and had no problems using the public health facilities or the private ones run by the pharmacy chains (at 20 pesos a visit — about 2 US dollars).
Living on the border now, a lot of us U.S. citizens regularly cross the border for doctors and dentists.
All we do by making it harder for “illegals” to enter is encourage them to stay, and/or bring their dependents. Otherwise, they’d send money home, and go back for family business (and after meeting short-term financial goals).
What struck me as odd wasn’t their newly discovered “rights” but the fact that our overlords seem to feel there are not enough illegal immigrants already milking the system, so they have to train them to do so.
Love Bush? Vote for Huckabee!!
