Doesn’t sound like a flag ban, but rather a limit on how many so people don’t have flag farms. Doesn’t sound like something to get worked up over. Are there pics of the ‘offending’ businesses? What if neighboring businesses granted their flag flying quotas to these guys?

The wind blows in Charlotte only because Raleigh sucks! The city fathers are trying to raise money to give to Durham to pay off the Duke LaCrosse boys when ther lawsuit gets settled and preventing them from owning the county and city of Durham. Years ago, the city of Raleigh charged you $5.00 tax to fly out of their airport. I used that airport 3 or 4 times a week, but kept every one of my receipts for a few years. When SCOTUS ruled their departure tax illegal, the city had to reimburse me quite a bit, and it took them over 6 months to do it. I laughed in their faces when I kept sending them dunning bills for my refund each month until paid. It was wonderful!

“Are these stories becoming more frequent or is it just my perception?”

It’s not chic to wave the flag or display it in any fashion, especially on your person.

Ahem ... think again.

Click on the source ... there’s a video ...and it is the number of flags that concerns. BS.

Ease up folks.

Rules like these are put up to keep the oneupmanship that businesses will often resort to down south. If left unchecked... one store puts up 2 flags, the next store, not to be out done puts up 4, and the one down the road puts up 8 ... etc, etc, etc.

Until you have so many flags it becomes a hazard and no one can find any stores. The city fathers are just trying to keep things from getting out of hand.

City officials said the choice in a three-flag maximum or a $500 fine.

They should not be allowed to limit how many flags one can fly. If you don't want to fly a flag, fine, that's your perogative, but if you want to fly 10, you should be allowed to fly 10 or 20 or 30 for that matter. How can a country place limits on its own flag? I love Sundays and Holidays because they fly the huge Sunday flag here on base. I love how big it is and how beautiful it looks whenever the air manages to move a bit here in Yuma ;^)

Sorry, I was wrong about his race. I’m glad to see that the city leaders are willing to go after all businesses, regardless of race. Because, as we all know, the over abundance of flags is the most pressing problem for them.

The problem is with the folks who elect the morons into city offices to begin with.

"But local politicians are BUTTHEADS universally........"

Scream it from the rooftops, RB!! Local politicians and nothing but little Stalin clones. They ought to identify the gene that makes one want to enter local politics so that they can eradicate it once and for all.
