The President, from the first day, has been for an immigration package like this. He was honest about it and pulled no punches.

I am just surprised that anyone is surprised that amnesty is passing and I am surprised that anyone thought the minority Republicans could do anything about it.

Did you ever think what would happen to this traitorous bill if all of the REPUBLICANS in the Senate were against it?

If this bill is passed it will be because of REPUBLICANS and it will be signed into law by a REPUBLICAN President.

All this would be a dead issue if Wackos like Tancredo would have comprimized just a little bit last year. Still, this bill will never become law.

As a computer scientist that is some logic that will never prove true to me.

There is your problem. you don't have the military experience to put this into a coherent perspective. Your training has been in the wrong direction to obtain the intellectual tools to evaluate these events meaningfully. If you are under 34, I suggest you go see your local recruiter.

“What happens to the GOP if amnesty is enacted?”

I suspect they’ll take it.

Bush had made it known that he was for amnesty before he even ran in 2000. That’s why I find it odd that anyone who thought teaching the Republicans a lesson in the mid-terms wouldn’t think that amnesty would sail through and become U.S. law.

It was "whackos" like Tancredo that kept this nonsense from going down last year. It's the likes of Graham that seek to hose the country and the GOP.

"Logic is the basis of computer science, hence the mention."
Your logic may be sound, but your critical thinking process is flawed.

Try a reboot.

If President Bush, who I voted for twice), wanted to stop this he could.

Try to wrap your logic around the idea that you have been had, like all of us conservatives.

Bush had made it known that he was for amnesty before he even ran in 2000.

Ah, so we should have then voted third party in 2000 and 2004.

And then listened you you bitch about us doing that.

You can't have it both ways.

Logic is the basis of computer science, hence the mention.

Your political logic is more riddled with bugs than a Microsoft beta test release.

That is until the now Legal Immigrants are allowed to vote.

That will probably happen before the 2008 elections. Thats why they are ramming through so fast!

The question is , Are you ready to have your kids live in Hillorat Land? Cutting your nose off to spite your face only proves you have a sharp knife.

....but Bush, you should have known, has been for amnesty since before he ran in 2000. He was open and honest about his position. That is why I find it so amazing that some people thought that without a majority of Republicans in both Houses that amnesty would somehow, magically, not pass. That logic fails me.

No more incoherent than your pointless rambling in the original post. And if you are actually old enough to try that then your knee would break from osteoporosis.

The Christian conservative Americans will probably begin clustering in communities in the North.

At some point, these conservatives will probably revolt against the never-ending invasion, and you will probably have the second American Civil War.

The grand 50 state, constitutional America is probably gone, but the ideas and ideals of America will not be destroyed. Iron is refined through fire, and I believe conservative, Christain, constitutional values will be strengthened in the long run.

However, I do believe a painful, bloody stand is in the future and that doesn’t make me happy.

Of course that’s my tin-foil hat 2 cents worth.

That`s funny, votes for third parties in 2000 and 2004 are nothing more then votes for ALGORE and Jon Carry. That would have solved the immigration problem.

You have a fatal error in your "logic" on this thread. First you say this:

So by teaching the Republicans a lesson what did you expect other than for amnesty to pass?

But then you say this:

but Bush, you should have known, has been for amnesty since before he ran in 2000. He was open and honest about his position

So on one hand you criticize those who vote against the GOP on this issue, but then say we who did should put some ice on it because Bush was for amnesty all along.

You are trying to have it both ways. And that is pure political duplicity.

We voted for Bush despite his position on amnesty. If you had any integrity, you would be asking Bush to back away from this because so many who supported him are against it. But you just want to damn us if we do and damn us if we don't.

And that, quite frankly, is EXACTLY why the GOP lost in 2006. That kind of pinhead attitude towards the base.
