Only small fry Nazis were prosecuted.

Yeah, 'cause Goering, Hess, Ribbentrop, Keitel, Kaltenbrunner, Rosenberg, Frank, Frick, Funk, Streicher, Schacht, Doenitz, Raeder, Schirach, Sauckel, Jodl, Papen, Seyss-Inquart, Speer, Neurath, Fritsche and Bormann were all small-fries.

Why don’t you be honest with us? You don’t recognize half—or even a third—of the names I listed above?

You just know what Tito’s secret police archives feed you, isn’t that the truth?

Petronski, I do not understand the sarcastic tone of your comment. Nazi Germany was not made of 20 people. You do not have to tell me about Nuremberg. What happened with Alfried Krupp, who was top Nazi financier and profiteer from slave labor? He was convicted in Nuremberg and MISSING from your list. Or, why you list Karl Doenitz as a Nazis when he was not one?

You have to learn, absorb, and then make comments of anybody's depth of knowledge. You have superficial grip of WWII history and dare to lecture me.

I am sick and tired of people who regurgitate the surface and never bother to dig to the essence:

What happened with I.G. Farben ? What happened with professors in Heidelberg who were the pillars of Nazi regime?

Interesting you brought up Tito. He was a pal with Kurt Waldheim and Gamal Abdel Nasser, both of them Nazis. And Tito never requested extradition of Ante Pavelic from Argentina. When it comes to Tito, you have no clue.

According to your vitriolic tone, you sound like someone who has been spoon fed with propaganda. It makes me guess what is your real problem.

>>>>>>>You need medication.<<<<<<

Roman Catholic Church has helped Nazis to escape from Europe and reach South America. This is historical fact. The trial of Klaus Barbie revealed that Barbie, Adolf Eichmann Josef Mengele, Walter Rauff, Franz Stangel Gustav Wagner and many others reached South America with the help of Vatican.

It is not important who provided passport for Eichmann. It is important who helped Eichmann to safely reach Argentina.

I do not need medication, my memory is very good, thank you. Perhaps you need a soap to wash your mouth for slandering me on the list.

You attack only gave me incentive to learn who issued I.D. that Red Cross used to issue passport for Eichmann.

Like children's play, warm, hot, hot.

If you are upset about Vatican Ratlines, you should be. It is a crime of great magnitude.

The article contains crucial disinformation. Passport was not issued in GENEVA, Switzerland, but in GENOA, ITALY.

See here:

"At a news conference Tuesday at the foundation's Holocaust Museum, a woman used white latex gloves to hold up the well-preserved passport, issued in 1948 by an Italian delegation of the International Committee of the Red Cross. The passport, on a single page of cardboard fold in three parts, bears the photograph of Eichmann and the neatly hand-lettered alias "Ricardo Klement." It also bears the French words "Comite International De la Croix-Rouge" and a stamp of its Genova, Italy, delegation."

Genoa and Geneva sound similar, but the implications of this seemingly tiny error is significant.

The question: who was in Italian delegation, and who provided fake I.D.that was used to issue passport to "Ricardo Klement".

This name sounds obviously fake to any European.

And here is the meat:

"At the beginning of 1950, Eichmann went to Italy, where he posed as a refugee named Riccardo Klement. With the help of a Franciscan friar who had connections with archbishop Alois Hudal, who organized one of the first ratlines, Eichmann obtained an International Committee of the Red Cross humanitarian passport in Genoa and an Argentinian visa, both issued to "Riccardo Klement, technician."

Petronski, thank you, your yelling flagged me to dig and find that Vatican first helped Eichmann to get fake passport and then spirited him out of Europe to escape justice.

>>>>>Blame the Catholics, eh? This passport was issued in Geneve! You need medication.<<<<<

You are wrong again. Passport to Eichmann was issued in GENOVA, ITALY and the Catholic church was involved. Eichmann was hidden in franciscan monasterey, provided with a passport and then spirited out throgh Vatican Ratlines to Argentina.

The only medication I may need is something to remove the pain in the stomach from dealing with people who lie in attempt to cover up the crime.

The Red Cross aided and abetted a fugitive from justice. I guess it was just a case of humanitarian provision. If they knew he was Adolf Eichmann, they didn't ask any questions.

Show me just what Mohammed brought that was new, and there you will find things only evil and inhuman, such as his command to spread by the sword the faith he preached." -Manuel II Paleologus

Interesting observation! The name of the two towns is very close, indeed. Can you please, include some reference for your quotes? I am a little skeptical about Italy’s position (helping German refugees) after the Mussolini regime, and a little bit about the Vatican, too. But, Switzerland was open for business for everyone - for every country convenience during their neutrality. This mentality is better noticed today in their banking system. Sometimes it’s hard to dig out the truth. I just hope that someone did not mix up the location’s name. That would be bad journalism, and sadly I would not be surprised.

I say that Nazis were protected by the United States and no clandestine network was needed. The most dirtiest ones were left to Vatican to spirit out of Europe. Oddesa was only cheap explanation.... .... The world is not black and white, rather it is all shades of gray.

You are right and wrong. As you say the world is not black and white. The know-how of the nazis was far to precious that the US or whoever could afford to send them all to the gallows. The best example is Wernher von Braun, a SS-Obersturmbannfuehrer who made jews put together his V2(A4)-missles in the KZ Nordhausen. His extraordinary knowlege was priceless and we all know that the US would not have reached the moon in 1969 without him. It was the same thing with the Organisation Gehlen (the forerunner of the West German intelligence service BND), that consisted mainly of old members or the notorious SD (Sicherheitsdienst Reichsführer-SS), the secret service of Himmler. They were the professionals that America needed in the beginning of the cold War to clear up Russia from inside.

This was a intelligent policy of the US although we can dispute its morality. We see very well what is happing if the elites of a country are ignored in contemporary Iraq. The US could have been advised better if they would have taken over the existing structures of the Saddam Iraqi army i.e.. I am sure the situation would be stable if they could provide security in exchange of a safe existance with future prospects. Although America officially crushed the nazi system in Germany it always walked on quite pragmatic path if it comes to old nazis. The thing is that we all had a benefit from that. No matter if we like it or not.

Nevertheless not all nazis were bright geniuses like Wernher von Braun or flying aces like Rudel. Most of them were average, boring and ordinary people. Many of them were real criminals, since it takes more than just a handful to organize the murder of 6 million Jews and 6 million Poles. Functionaries of death. Judges, SS-men, party-members etc. etc- etc. Outside of Germany there was no sympathy left for them. They indeed needed a network to secure their own existance. And this network was reality. Since West Germany took over the complete nazi apparatus of justice no one ever was really punished for crimes in the 3rd Reich. All lawsuits ended in a big implosion. To give you a typical example: The widow of the notorious Volksgerichtshof-judge Freisler (he sentenced the Hitler-bomb-planters around Stauffenberg and the "weisse Rose" to death) i.e. got a big pension (Freisler died in a US-bombing in early 45) and recieved a yearly increase (because Freisler normally would have been promoted if he would not have died that early...). The law with the yearly increase was changed in the year after she died.

They all helped together and I am sure that there was a well organized network. I do not know if its name was really ODESSA, but it existed. The "Rattenlinie" (rat line) of the Vatican was only small a part of it. Those old "comrades" had most of former west Germany under their control. No matter if we talk about politics or economy.

BTW - just take a look to the "other" side if you are interested in the story of postwar west Germany. If you read the curriculum vitae of some victims of the leftist RAF you will find out that many of them were involved into the nazi regime. I.e. Hans Martin Schleyer was turning jewish industry into aryan possession during the war. If he would not be celebrated officially as a hero nowadays you could say that he was a real swine and deserved his sad death. (stone cold sarcasm since that was not politically correct)

;)

Here it is, from multiple sources

the fact that the passport to Eichmann was issued in Genoa, Italy and that he was hidden in Franciscan monastery in Italy was known from before. The news is that the actual passport was found, 45 years after Eichmann's trial.

Thanks for the info. You are right; the story is about the passport found in Argentina.

The background story should be simple as shown below: passport was issued by the ICRC office in Genoa (Italy), and the related paperwork is in the ICRC archive in Geneva (Switzerland).

http://www.ejpress.org/article/17232

The Red Cross ………… passport issued by its office in Genoa, ……...

The ICRC kept a duplicate of the request for the papers in its archives in Geneva.

This document released 30 May, 2007 by the International Committee of the Red Cross in Geneva shows the Red Cross Travel document n° 100'940 with the name of Ricardo Klement alias Nazi war criminal Adolf Eichmann.
