I would be more concerned about an excommunicated president, or even one who has been denied communion by his own church.

Welcome to Free Republic. Too bad Mitt is a total social liberal RINO.

Better Mormon than Muslim.

Although the origins of the Mormon religion are cultish, I think the status of the group today is mainstream. I’m going to judge Romney by what I think of Romney, not what I think of Mormonism.

People need to know more about Mormon history. I don’t think it has a lot of bearing on Mitt Romney as a person but the book of Mormon is a sham. It isn’t even a very a good one at that. I respect Mormon’s values and commitment to traditional family values but the whole church would benefit from jettisoning the fiction of Joseph Smith. It is a cut and past combination of plagiarizing from the King James bible and smith’s imagination. Islam is the same, a religion founded by a pedophile and yet no one wants to face the facts on either account and in todays sissy world of relativistic truth one can only expect words like bigot to be used as the defense to beat those who dare assault the golden calf of another’s religion.

Most religions were founded by rather strange people.
However, once you have a couple of million followers, everything usually turns out fairly normal. There are a couple of exceptions, of course.

It must be the end/beginning of the month again. Here is the same article that gets trotted out about that often. (At least the headline is the same.)

When Mitt was our governor he NEVER made an issue of his religion. If it weren’t constantly brought up by the media no one would know what faith he belonged to. He doesn’t wear his religion on his sleeve unlike a former bible toting president. Who happened to be a phony. Wonder how often he drags his 20 lb. bible to church these days?

Sorry, can't vote for Romney. Why? He states that he is an active mormon. The mormon religion is a cultic one and, sorry to say, much like the muslim religion... they both have a replacement theology of Israel, deny Christ by adding a salvation attachment, and follow a false prophet. Many people see mormonism as a Christian religion... it isn't. Therefore, I cannot support Romney, no matter how slick he looks and how elequantly he speaks.
God Bless our soldiers on this Memorial Day.
