“Even if we give first priority to the destruction of terrorist networks, and even if we succeed, there are still governments that could bring us great harm. And there is a clear case that one of these governments in particular represents a virulent threat in a class by itself: Iraq. As far as I am concerned, a final reckoning with that government should be on the table.” - Al Gore, before Council On Foreign Relations, Washington, D.C., Feb. 12, 2002.

"If you allow someone like Saddam Hussein to get nuclear weapons, ballistic missiles, chemical weapons, biological weapons, how many people is he going to kill with such weapons? He's already demonstrated a willingness to use these weapons. He poison-gassed his own people. He used poison gas and other weapons of mass destruction against his neighbors. This man has no compunction about killing lots and lots of people." -- Al Gore, Dec. 16, 1998

“”Just like the facts available before the invasion of Iraq,”

Al Gore > September 23, 2002
“We know that he has stored secret supplies of biological and chemical weapons throughout his country.”

Al Gore > December 16, 1998
“[I]f you allow someone like Saddam Hussein to get nuclear weapons, ballistic missiles, chemical weapons, biological weapons, how many people is he going to kill with such weapons? He has already demonstrated a willingness to use such weapons...”

Al Gore > September 23, 2002
“Iraq’s search for weapons of mass destruction has proven impossible to deter, and we should assume that it will continue for as long as Saddam is in power.”

Al Gore > February 13, 2002
“Al Gore said last night that the time had come for a “final reckoning” with Iraq, describing the country as a “virulent threat in a class by itself” and suggesting that the United States should consider ways to oust Saddam Hussein. (The New York Times)

Now Gore has the assininity to write a book titled “Assult on Reason”.

He lamented what he described as the "destruction of the boundary between news and entertainment" and said the United States was "vulnerable as a democracy to mass and continuing distraction."

Al Bore makes his living BETTING ON the mass and continuing distraction of the American people. He's quite ridiculous, and this would be funny, but he's seriously hoodwinking so many gullible idiots it's alarming. Nothing new, though, unfortunately.

"What is it about our collective decision-making process that has led us to this state of affairs where we spend much more time in the public forum talking about -- or receiving information about -- Britney Spears shaving her head or Paris Hilton going to jail?"

Or Al Gore spreading a hoax?
