The floor that that particular bar is on does NOT serve food so I've been told by a frequent visitor to the building. She went there for a bowl of soup.

She was drunk pure and simple. Anemia is common in those addicted to booze.

With felony voting fraud convictions on their records, they can't ever work the polls again, nor will they be able to get their voting rights restored.

They can still work the polls illegally. They didn't receive much punishment this time. Why would next time be any different?

Prosecutors say there's no evidence that Ford or anyone else was involved in the plot that helped the Memphis Democrat eke out a 13-vote win over Republican challenger Terry Roland in a September 2005 special election for the vacant District 29 state senate seat.

"There is no indication that this involves some broader conspiracy to steal the election," said Dist. Atty. Gen. Bill Gibbons. "If it had gone to trial, there would be no evidence to the contrary."

Reports could not be confirmed that Gibbons then mumbled "Because I got rid of it all" under his breath.

The senator told WMC-TV News last week that she suffers from chronic anemia. She admitted to falling off a bar stool at Nashville's Downtown Sheraton across from Legislative Plaza, saying the episode was triggered by her anemia and by "not eating...''

That happened to me once...now I make sure I have something to eat before I go out drinking.

An addendum to my previous post: Out of habit, I just assumed that District Attorney General Bill Gibbons was a Democrat since his party was not mentioned in the context of the article. He's a Republican. But strangely enough, just over a year ago, a blog by a Shelby County Demo expressed outrage that Gibbons was being allowed to attend a fundraising event held by county Democrats.

Responded "autoegocrat" to the post:

I've been look around [sic] at the political scene in other cities, and I have to say without hesitation that this is one of the most poltically [sic] depressing places anywhere in America outside of DC. The combination of apathetic incompetence and chummy corruption is more worthy of Hazzard County than Shelby County.
Curiouser and curiouser.
