One thing I know is that governments cannot impose laws that people don’t want or support. when people agree, you don’t need that much law enforcement. Unless we get past the idea that the feds can fix this while everyone else watches American Idol, we will fail. As for the totalitarian comment. Not true. Libertarian is my bent. but though I am an historian, I see little point in looking back to 86 as you do.
