Bull. They don’t want to have to deal with his stupidity. Let him have his own stupid debate. He can debate real life.

I guess he takes bin Laden at his word.

Hey, if you can't trust Osama...

Maybe bin Laden should have asked for money instead. Paul would send it to him.

Ron Paul needs at least one more debate to prove to everyone that he’s a flake.

Libertarians are open borders and pro-abort for the most part; Ron Paul is neither. On the contrary, he has intoduced legislation to amend the Constitution to do away with ‘anchor babies’ getting automatic citizenship - sounds pretty conservative to me.

Maybe it was Dulles, but this was long before the CIA. In any case, it is amazing how little Lenin knew about what was going on in the world. Solzhinitzen (sp?) little book about him tells us that this total ideologue had theories that were totally detached from reality. Even more amazing is how
this ideologue was able to dump ALL his theories once he came to Russia. He was, as a politican, a total opportunist. In spirit he and Hitler were very much alike: murderers at heart and total nihilists.

LOL, it’s a conspiracy. Ron Paul can discredit himself. He doesn’t need any help.

seriesly ... mods check all posts by new sign-ups? (I hate the term ‘newbie’)

I fear some mods are more ‘enthusiastic’ than others and ban new posters simply because they don’t agree with them v. there being a legitimate violation of rules or tin foil posts. Someone I know personally was banned shortly after signing up, and when I read the post I couldn’t figure out why he’d been banned .. it’s at the personal discretion of a given mod? who knew?

oh the luncheon I was referring to took place when Dulles was just a young pup, LONG before there was any thought of an agency like the CIA, OSS, or any of that.

Your analysis/comparison of Lenin and Hitler is spot on. It is a favorite tactic of liberals and leftists to try and portray Hitler as a 'right wing' and/or 'conservative' figure, when in fact he was just as left wing as any Communist, i.e., liberals just don't get it when you point out that the term 'Nazi' referred to 'National SOCIALIST', you know what I mean?

because I am a new member I am suspect and I am only allowed to post one item every 24 hours and it has to go through mods first. That sometimes takes an hour or more and by then topic has already been posted, so it appears I have made a duplicate post without searching.

Also any reply I make to a thread has to be read by a moderator and approved first. While I can understand the need for this and have no problem with it my question is how long am I going to be on probation? :)
***Bump. I didn’t know that’s how things were for newbies. Welcome to FR. That’s something that they didn’t even say when I joined... ;-)

I suppose if I were in your position I’d be putting down the time that I actually posted the comment, with an accompanying newbie disclaimer like you just posted. Then other freepers would know. Thanks for posting this information, there might be others who were not aware of it like myself.

The GOP needs a little bit of blow-back then. They have allowed entirely too many nincompoops to run for pres who have no regard for the party platform.

Admin Moderator:

How can we find out about this stuff if posts are withdrawn? Is it true that posts go thru mods first for newbies?

., liberals just don’t get it when you point out that the term ‘Nazi’ referred to ‘National SOCIALIST’, you know what I mean?
***I’ve used that several times in political conversations. Out here in socialist caleeforneeya, the political talk tends to lean very leftward, and on occasion I’ve been known to say something tongue-in-cheek like, “What we need is a fusion of national and socialism, National Socialism.” I’m surprised how often the response to that is, “Yeah, that’s a good idea.”

If I want to bet I’ll go to Vegas. I would get better odds there anyway....Voting for Ron Paul is not betting on him to win, it is supporting a constitutional conservative against the status quo. He may not win...but that will be conservatism's loss.

The guy who stood up Lenin?

Allen Dulles. First director of the CIA.

I'd love to see a source on that. Since the Russian Revolution began in 1917 and Dulles was born in 1893, he would have only been 24 years old - barely out of college.

The head of the Mich. GOP is an idiot.

If he thinks that silencing people because of their views is the way to approach a disagreement, the idiot should not be in any position of power. The Mich. GOP needs to find itself a new chairman.

I don't particularly like Paul, but I see no point in trying to shut him up for saying what he believes. Let him run and lose on his own merits.

At some point they will need to pare down the list of candidates in the debates to half a dozen or less for them to be productive, but that should be done using some less partial method such as poll numbers, not by picking the least controversial candidates.

However, for the time being, let him participate. If nothing else it will be interesting to see how the other candidates react to what he has to say. If he attracts support with speaking his mind, then he deserves to stay. If he doesn't then he will have gotten his fair chance.

Well, socialism is less an economic system than a world view. Mussolini was a great admirer of Leninism. His objection to communism was less a matter of economics than opposition to control of government by other gangsters

I think they want the GOP debates to feature only Republicans. If they wanted white flag waving, tin foil hat anti Americans they would also invite Hillary, Edwards and Gore.
