Is Moore able to identify cigars as being Cuban simply by seeing one on Youtube? I hadn't realized Michael was such a connisseur on things to put in one's mouth. Maybe he should do a dickumentary documentary on that.

Never underestimate the enemy (as we did in Iraq). Thompson knows the business at least as well as Moore.

Is there a way you can find this out? —possessing cubans vs buying them.

Judging from his girth, I would think he just shovels any ol’ thing with a calorie count of 1000 or more.

It’s so ironic - I remember an early (1992-93) episode of Law & Order that dealt with Cuban “Mafia” and the Godfather was meeting with Ben Stone. He walked in holding a cigar, and offered one to Stone, saying “may I offer you a Cuban?”
Stone’s reply: “Those are ILLEGAL sir, and there’s no smoking in my office.”

FDT should not be buying or smoking Cuban cigars.
We agree. And from what I have learned of his principles (raising Cuban abuses before the cigar flap arose) he probably would not even accept them as a gift, because of the associated stench of tyranny.

He is basing his stance on an interview of Fred done several months ago, in which the reporter claimed the “box upon box” of cigars in Fred’s office were “Montecristos from Havana”.

Let’s see here... Michael Moore is accusing Fred
Thompson of breaking the law because he owns cuban
cigars or because he is smoking - I don’t know.
However, it’s obvious MM IS his own healthcare crisis
and should be thrown in jail for violating transfat
laws.
Oh forget it. He’s a liberal. Nanny law’s only purpose
is to beat conservatives into submission.

That's my understanding, technically you can't to Canada and purchase Cuban goods, but if someone gives Cuban goods to you, you're not required to give them back.
If you look at most cigar forums, there's someone who's an expert in the nuances of the law, but that's the general concensus.
Sorry I can't be more helpful.
