"Why not try the one thing we haven’t done yet? By enforcing our laws, securing our borders and holding employers accountable"

Bilbray has been reading my posts on FR. LOL

...many activist groups expect us to be held accountable for a third-world environment overrun with corruption and poverty we did not create. We could grant a mass amnesty right now and it still would not change any of the social, political and economic conditions that are driving people away from their home countries.

BINGO

What Part of ‘Illegal Immigration’ is Confusing?

The part where they actually have to do something about this issue rather than sit on it.

BINGO - and furthermore, when they come here in mass, they bring the culture of corruption and poverty with them...

BINGO

I concur, Mexico and other third world countries need to solve their problems instead of dumping them on our back porch like unwanted children!

And I am frustrated at the news coverage of this subject. So often the media talk about “immigrant rights” and gaining “rights” for “immigrants”. Seldom do they mention that these people are here illegally in the first place.

Legal immigrants have legal rights under the law. We have laws on the books which are not being enforced.

Illegal immigrants have few rights under the law, and it’s because they aren’t here legally.

The core concepts are not that complicated, but there is so much miscommunication about how illegals are “immigrants” and deserve many more “rights” because they are being lumped in with legal immigrants and deserving of that status.

We have laws to accomodate legal immigrants already.

Second your BINGO.

The problem is that much of the whole world would like to come here.

An amnesty at this point in time is somewhat like a game of musical chairs...if your here when the music stops you win.

All an amnesty will do is start the next round of the game.

I’m confused that W says we are a Nation of Laws, but never seems to enforce them. That would be the duty of the Executive wouldn’t it?

“I’m confused that W says we are a Nation of Laws, but never seems to enforce them.”

That’s because whenever he says this, he follows it with a “but”. What that means is “forget what I just said”.

“That would be the duty of the Executive wouldn’t it?”

Says so in the Constitution, at least. Of course, the Constitution is only observed in the breaking of it. We are not a Constitutional Republic any longer and haven’t been for some decades.

Citizen's Arrest! Citizen's Arrest!

These days it's more like: Citizens Arrested! Citizens Arrested!

(BTW, Barney Fife was excellent in that episode.)

No one can fault any of these people from trying to escape these gut-wrenching conditions and pursuing a better way of life.

Exactly.

And they can get in line just like my grandparents did.

Americans have grown verrrrrrry tired of picking up the tab for other countries’ problems and incarcerating other countries’ criminals....this is not the world’s dumping ground...
Exactly!

No one is talking about legal immigrants, if they are then I am sorry. I am only concerned with illegals be they from Somalia, Libya, Mexico, India ect ect ect.

That isn't EXACTLY what he/she/it said.

Go back and read the post again.
