The Congressional Missing and Exploited Children's Caucus was originally formed by Mark Foley. Lampson re-formed the group after Mr. Foley resigned. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_House_Caucus_on_Missing_and_Exploited_Children On the funding of the Congressional Caucus? Here are the rules.... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Congressional_caucus#Funding_and_Resources

Am I correct in assumiong by your nick that you're on Tiki Island in Galveston?
I had a life changing incident happen there. I caught my stepmother swapping spit with someone other than my father.

All spelling and grammar errors are completely acceptable until the 3rd cup of coffee. :)

No, my username is not related to anything. It’s just something I made up a long time ago.

I hope your dad gave her some of his own spit, from a distance of course.

Here is my clue, notice a FReeper with a astute understanding of a subject... take a chance... click their name and look under their bookmarked threads...

I have a good newbie selection on subjects myself... click to see...

Well, bookmarks are called “Links” I see now... so click a person’s name, check their “links”... is what I meant.

I found this “Caucus Room” picture:

http://www.aoc.gov/images/chob_caucus_rm.jpg

and the article that describes how fancy, schmancy it is, how you need an invite from the Speaker of the House to get in, the yummy dinners...

Our tax dollars at work?

You could say, in a manner of speaking, that he eventually did, but it wasn't at a distance.

Your info is at odds with this info:

Just months into his first term, a family in his [Nick Lampson's] district suffered a widely-publicized tragedy. A 12-year-old girl from Friendswood, Texas, was abducted and found murdered two weeks later. Lampson was so moved by the family's courage and the caring response of the community in banding together to search for the child, that he established the first-ever Congressional Missing and Exploited Children's Caucus, which now numbers more than 120 members from both parties. Bob Smither, the father of the murdered girl, was Lampson's Libertarian opponent in the 2006 election. The Congressional Missing and Exploited Children's Caucus was directly responsible for nationalizing the Amber Alert system.

That from Wikipedia's page on Nick Lampson.

I read this from the first link you provided:

The Caucus was established by Nick Lampson, a member of Congress from Texas.

I wasn't able to find anything about Foley originally forming the caucus from that first link you gave, so I'm a little ??? where you got that from?

Thanks for pointing out those rules in that 2nd link. I wonder how many truly follow them, and who they are. It looks like the taxpayers do pay for at least a portion of these caucuses one way or the other, not counting any cheating on the rules.

Did you see the picture showing the Caucus Room? I guess that's where they go to talk about their pet projects. I wonder who pays for their food?

I'm very frugal with our personal money and can't help but question what all of the taxpayer's money is spent on, or if they have any right to spend it in the first place.

I read your “About” page and a sampling of your comments “In Forum”.

After all that, I disagree... I think you’re pretty. :-D

Thanks for the helpful tip.

http://www.fortbendnow.com/news/2459/lampson-helps-re-form-missing-and-exploited-chidlrens-caucus Sorry, he formed it back in '97 while in office, while he was out, the Foley (who was co-chair at the time) scandal happened, the group sort went by the wayside, and when Lampson came back, he reformed it. http://seattlepi.nwsource.com/national/1153AP_Childrens_Caucus.html?source=rss http://www.sourcewatch.org/index.php?title=Congressional_Missing_and_Exploited_Children%27s_Caucus I think things like nationalizing the Amber Alert system are a worthy thing of spending tax money on.

Question #1 to kick it all off.

Who am I?

Not a bad question. Who we are determines what we believe.

What we believe is crucial in choosing our political stand.

I’ve seen something done on other forums.

Sometimes people feel goofy about not knowing something.

So someone volunteers to post those questions for answers and only that person knows who asked the question.

Or a weekly forum called “Ask a fellow FReeper?”

“””Who am I?”””

You are the FReeper who inspired me to donate $25,000 for an INGNORE feature.

I have been informed that another $63,213 is needed for a ‘fool-proof’ system.

We shall see.
