“Figure I have a few years on you, sonnie.”

Well, if you do, the concept that age brings wisdom is clearly faulty. You have an utterly simplistic view of politics and the election.

“Is Guilaini perfect? Not by a long shot. “

Guiliani not only isn’t perfect, he’s the political ENEMY of conservatives just like Hillary ius.

” I’ve surveyed the field and surmised that a certain mayor from New York represents my party’s best shot at keeping the White House from the grasping clutches of the Hildebeast. To me that is the most important consideration.”

If the best way to save the Republican Party is to nominate a man who stands in opposition to the party platform... Regardless, you think this is about keeping Hillary out of the White House. That this is the only goal. That’s not it at all. The goal is to keep *liberals* out of the White House. Rudy, politically and ideologically, is on the same side as Hillary. He’s even said so.

You “surveyed the field” and decided that the guy the base of the party is least represented by is the solution. That we have to become Demcrats to “win”. WE (conservatives) don’t win that way. History teaches us that the GOP doesn’t win that way either.

Pretty weak analysis from a supposed “old guy”. If the Republican Party decides to go left one more step, they’ll do so without my approval (vote), time, or money.

Thank you for your post 84. In a few words you straightened me out as regards your posts, which I had misunderstood.

Sometimes, my own stupidity amazes even me. Must be an art that I have cultivated.

I agree that it’s a conundrum — but it belies Giuliani’s “tough on terrorism” image, doesn’t it? At the very least, he should have spoken about the war that Islamofascists were waging against us, and made the point that this does not mean all Muslims are our enemies. Rudy denied that these attacks were part of a war at all. You can’t wage war if you can’t name your enemy. His approach seemed to have been about what the ‘toon’s was.

At this moment, millions of conservatives across the country are finding their ___(starts with the letter “s” and rhymes with “yack”)__, AND their brains.
