The Krauts have had this Phobia for over 130 years. Not surprised that it was 3 days after Hitler's birthday.

Melissa Busekros and her sister speak with Richard Guenther, director of European operations for the International Human Rights Group, during the time Melissa was being kept in custody at a foster home. The girls here are in a clearing house where Melissa was scheduled to meet her parents

It’s a pity the family isn’t Islamic. The German government would have never bothered them in the first place.

Way to go Melissa!!
Smart - knew the laws.
Gutsy - last time it was 15 cops coming for her.
Sweet - left a note for her foster parents.

"The minister of education does not share your attitudes toward so-called homeschooling," said a government letter in response. "... You complain about the forced school escort of primary school children by the responsible local police officers. ... In order to avoid this in future, the education authority is in conversation with the affected family in order to look for possibilities to bring the religious convictions of the family into line with the unalterable school attendance requirement."
There was a time when such a comment would've gotten a war started the second it was made. But that civilization is dead now...

I’d thought Germany’s days as a statist tyranny were behind it, but I guess some things just never change.

Wolfgang Drautz, consul general for the Federal Republic of Germany, has commented on the issue on a blog, noting the government "has a legitimate interest in countering the rise of parallel societies that are based on religion or motivated by different world views and in integrating minorities into the population as a whole." In other words, they don't want people who are different. Unless, of course, they are the type of people who would cut your head off for criticizing their "parallel society".

I’m thinking it’s time for Melissa’s family to flee Germany. America would probably offer amnesty and American homeschoolers would certainly provide enough to replace their lost property and get her dad a job.
Probably a few retired spec ops guys who are homeschoolers who might offer assistance in getting across a border or two

In Hillary's Village, children are state property. Parents are the enemy.

They could apply for political asylum:
http://www.rapidimmigration.com/usa/1_eng_kit_asylum.html
In 1981, the Refugee Act was passed. Asylum and/or Refugee Status was to be granted to anyone outside of his or her own country of Nationality (or already in the United StatesS) who is “unable or unwilling to return because of persecution or a well-founded fear of persecution on account of race, religion, nationality, membership in a particular social group, or political opinion”.
