“Its interesting that Poppy Bush introduced Rudy at an event at this juncture.”
“poppy” bush?
You mean the man who lost the election in 1992 because he abandoned conservatives?

>>>>>> and I guess you are the arbiter for who is and is not conservative?Jim Robinson is the arbiter on Free Republic, as to exactly who is a conservative and who isn't a conservative. Jim`s laid down the law and I support his decision. Wouldn't have remained an active member of FR for pushing eight years now, if I didn't support Jim`s standard rules and regulations. Guidleines that are in keeping with the conservative agenda. Pretty simple stuff btw. You've seen it before.
"As a conservative site, Free Republic is pro-God, pro-life, pro-family, pro-Constitution, pro-Bill of Rights, pro-gun, pro-limited government, pro-private property rights, pro-limited taxes, pro-capitalism, pro-national defense, pro-freedom, and-pro America. We oppose all forms of liberalism, socialism, fascism, pacifism, totalitarianism, anarchism, government enforced atheism, abortionism, feminism, homosexualism, racism, wacko environmentalism, judicial activism, etc. We also oppose the United Nations or any other world government body that may attempt to impose its will or rule over our sovereign nation and sovereign people. We believe in defending our borders, our constitution and our national sovereignty.
I see nothing in that excellent conservative rant by Jim, which can be confused with the liberalism of Rudy Giuliani. Many longtime FReepers have been banned in recent days and weeks, for bashing cosnervative candidates and promoting the liberal abortionist Rudy Giuliani. My guess is, there will be more to come.

The illegal alien problem was no where near as bad under Reagan
It was a drop in the bucket. Reagan had no way of knowing that all of the constraints in the bill would be ignored.
Everyone knows this or should. It's a sham to even bring up this 22 year old decision.
Those that repeatedly bring this into the current political debate do so in an attempt to defend or justify those that continue to pander to this ever escalating problem.

In my opinion, the rudy people were looking for something to pick them up. They are tired of losing every argument here, tired of not being able to defend their candidate to conservatives, and afraid that if they keep losing it will catch on.
The fact is, Rudy is doing more than his fair share to torpedo his own campaign than any of the numnutz here on FR who seem to think he is a latter day 'Mr Republican'. Rudy IS indefensible, and he is indefensible in most cases by a simple citation of his own past words and deeds. I mean, how damning is it when your own MOTHER states that you (meaning Rudy) "isn't a conservative Republican, he thinks he is, but he's not"? And goes on to say that Rudy only became a Republican "after he started getting all those jobs from them". For the dedicated RudyBot, that's a steep grade to climb.
It looks like some of them were chosen to be sacrificial lambs, to say things to get banned so they might gain sympathy, or at least to go off and claim that conservatives cant win the argument against them and so we banned them.
I'm not sure if it's anything that grandiose, most of the RudyBot tactics consist of repetition, posting and re-posting the same blah-blah-blah all the time, always the 'ORCSUFH' (Only Rudy Can Save Us From Hillary) garbage, and when Rudy's moral character is challenged (3 marriages, 1 to his cousin), the standard response is to say "well, Ronald Reagan was divorced", as if there is some sort of moral parallel between our highly principled 40th President, and a former mayor of New York City who believed so much in the institution of marriage, that he kept working on it until 'third time's the charm'. The RudyBot strategy is generally to subtly (or not-so-subtly) trash REAL conservatives in order to build up their boy, and that is a losing strategy to be sure. I think the recent spraying of FR for RudyPests and RINOS demonstrates that the R-bots finally reached the saturation point and JimRob said 'this far and no further'.
I dont know how to explain attacking the honor of Jim Robinson, telling the pro-life conservatives here that they will be responsible for the death of babies if they dont pick a pro-abortion candidate, or arguing that the Republican Party should be led by a trained monkey so long as it means Hillary isnt president.
It is spelled desperation. The RudyBots know their candidate is in serious trouble, that is why they are so eager to post ANY polling data that puts their guy in a good light, when they KNOW that polling data 18 months away from the general election is absolutely meaningless.
If FR was a lumber yard instead of a website, JimRob would be up to his armpits in termites by now, and thank God he's doing something about it. If the GOP did nominate that Stealth 'Rat Rudy, I think I'd be inclined to write in JimRob's name on my ballot.

I appreciate your kind advice. I mean that.
However, my tolerance level has been severely strained since the evening Rudy supporters were called treasonous liberals; hence the provocative tone.
Words have meaning and when management and others choose to call Rudy supporters treasonous, what do we call the Jane Fonda’s of the world?

I miss George Allen. Why? He was no Reagan. He was a doofus jock fratboy type who proved he does not have the mettle under real campaign pressure. He was not a deep thinker as Reagan was.

Hmmmm - that’s interesting. I’d hate to see Republicans fall for that old trick, but it’s likely they would.
I’m rather hoping that it’s such a cat fight with Kerry thinking about entering the race again and Gore making noise, that the Democrats so beat each other up that they all look dirty to even their own party. Although the Democrats are known to stick with party no matter what.

anti-Rudy crowd will have to suck it up The pro-rudy posters are getting creamed in the debate of ideas, philosophy, constitution, and what is right for the country.
So they attack other candidates for having traits similar to their own candidate, they multi-post articles with their own peculiar excerpts to spin for Rudy, and then ignore negative comments and move on to the next thread.
Most pro-rudy threads end because someone posts rebuttals to the actual facts in the posted article, and the pro-rudy people move on. Before that, the pro-rudy people post anti-rudy comments in order to complain about how the anti-rudy people will show up eventually and make those comments.
The pro-rudy people have been trolling to try to get banned for a week now. Time and again they post "will we still be able to post", or "I hear there's a purge and we'll get banned".
When that didn't work, some of them made false claims against conservatives, some so bad they had to ask for them to be deleted themselves. And a few did get banned for that.
So now they can run around claiming they are being silenced because the anti-rudy people have no "answer" to their reasoning, something that is clearly delusional if you actually read the pro-rudy threads.
