And what is the "point of this whole thread", according to EternalVigilance?

Will FR embrace socialism to make way for Rudy Giuliani as a Republican presidential candidate?
vanity | April 21, 2007 | Jim Robinson

Some said yes, most said hell no, and some used the opportunity to commit FReepercide.

If McCain is nominated, God knows what everyone'll do.

Would “God helps those who help themselves” fit in with that?

Not enough difference beween what Giuliani and Clinton stand for to even bother with worrying about which party would officially be in power.

Please explain the process by which United States Attorneys and District Court Judges are traditionally nominated. And please explain why given this, it doesn't matter "which party would officially be in power".

And that's just the start of why elections matter. I wouldn't trust ANY of the current Democrat candidates as Commander-in-Chief. Would you?

Or is it to scare off FReepers who would dare correct incorrect or incomplete information posted about Giuliani?

Take it up with the guy who posted the thread.

There is no way I can separate my value system into “religious” and “non-religious” parts.

It’s the need to stand up that makes me politically active. It’s the need to stand for right, for the unborn, the vunerable, the small.

What part of me can I check at the door? My belief in justice? My belief that life is valuable in all its’ stages, and that to give up that belief turns us into tools of the state, available to be manipulated by some state or court mandated definition of when you are a person or not? The need to fight against the pc attitudes that say “diversity is the new holiness, and to heck with the first amendment?”

I cannot divide my soul, nor can I be quiet. I will not buckle up and sit in the back of the bus.

"I believe that I’m simply describing an objective reality."

Like you, I believe that I'm also describing an objective reality, at least in my humble opinion. There a millions of Americans who would vote for Rudy rather than Hillary (from both mainstream parties) in a Presidential election. However, I don't believe that I speak on their behalf. They're big boys and girls and can speak for themselves. That's their unalienable right as American citizens.

So, what do you think Keyes chances are of winning the general election and taking the fight, to completion, to the Islamofascists?

For a handful of posters to goad and bully FReepers who don't 100% tow the party line until they say something that will get them banned?

What is happening on this thread is nothing.
That has been going on here for years.

Jim Robinson explained the purpose of this thread in his post.

“We’ve got some real challenges facing us. FR was established to fight against government corruption, overstepping, and abuse and to fight for a return to the limited constitutional government as envisioned and set forth by our founding fathers in the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution and other founding documents.

One of the biggest cases of government corruption, overstepping and abuse that I know of is its disgraceful headlong slide into a socialist hell. Our founders never intended for abortion to be the law of the land. And they never intended the Supreme Court to be a legislative body. They never intended God or religion to be written out of public life. They never intended government to be used to deny God’s existence or for government to be used to force sexual perversions onto our society or into our children’s education curriculum. They never intend for government to disarm the people. They never intended for government to set up sanctuary cities for illegals. They never intended government to “rule” over the people and or to take their earnings or private property or to deprive them of their constitutional rights to free speech, free religion, private property, due process, etc. They never intended government to seize the private property of private citizens through draconian asset forfeiture laws or laws allowing government to take private property from lawful owners to give to developers. Or to seize wealth and redistribute it to others. Or to provide government forced health insurance or government forced retirement systems.

All of the above are examples of ever expanding socialism and tyranny brought to us by liberals/liberalism.

FR fights against the liberals/Democrats in all of these areas and always will. Now if liberalism infiltrates into the Republican party and Republicans start promoting all this socialist garbage, do you think that I or FR will suddenly stop fighting against it? Do you think I’m going to bow down and accept abortionism, feminism, homosexualism, global warming, illegal alien lawbreakers, gun control, asset forfeiture, socialism, tyranny, totalitarianism, etc, etc, etc, just so some fancy New York liberal lawyer can become president from the Republican party?

Do you really expect me to do that?”

“I don’t think your bully tactics are the way to go.”

You seem to be the one bullying, I made a simple comment to someone that had nothing to do with you and you are continuing to attempt to browbeat me into something in defense of their little insult to FR.

I think it would help if you could bring down the emotionalism just a bit.

I don’t think this is all about one election, like so many do. I think this is about saving a republic that is slowly but surely being lost to the socialists.

And we won’t save it without powerful, authentic, courageous voices for our cause. How many of those do you know of? List them, and make sure they’re folks who have scars on their bodies from their longterm commitment to the fight.
