That was it! You and I will have to find someone else to bet with though because I agree with you, I don’t think he’ll win the nomination either. If he does, I’ll be crabby. ;)
For some, it can’t be science if it merely happens to disagree with them, even if they don’t have a science degree themselves.
If you don’t believe in evolution, even with a PhD, then the PhD is worth about toilet paper, no matter what it’s in. Anyone can get one these days, they come a dime a dozen.
If you do believe in evolution, it doesn’t matter if you don’t even have a degree, you’re right in whatever you say. And if you do have a PhD then you have to have worked hard for it and gives you all kinds of credibility; they aren’t easy to come by and of course, makes you an expert in all kinds of areas, even if you’re not.
...dang I wanted those wild Reds lol. Nice chatting, we’ll talk soon. Gotta do a few reports.
Nice chattin’ with you too, rbmillerjr. I need to get off here too and get busy round the ole homestead. See ya later! :)
I made that up. I’ll take anyone that can act like a founding father.
I’d rather have an uneducated wise man as a friend than an educated fool.
I’m sure some of those lemmings will return here, after a certain moderator is done with them over there. I’d love to see the looks on their faces when they realize they were used by their “friend.” Then again, I’d love to have seen the look on that moderator’s face when she realized her age-old trick of feeding the storm and riding it out didn’t work this time.
Some people are very confused about the connection between intellect and education and wisdom and character.
The first two rarely guaranteed the second two.
It’s very appropriate! And timely!
Thank you.
That reminds me, time to go work on dinner. Be back later. *sigh*
He lied.
We got screwed.
End of story.
IIRC, there was an election where Ahnold floated initiatives to try to limit spending. These initiatives seemed like a reasonable compromise, IMO, the best one could hope for in California, and I thought they would pass.
Not only were these initiatives defeated, they were crushed. Ahnold got the message - the voters don't want fiscal responsibility.
But I'd still rather have him as Governor than have the alternative - A MAPA activist with a room-temperature IQ.
jedward’s popcorn is going to come in very handy if you take the bait and answer that question, mom. Turning this thread into a crevo debate would keep them busy over at DC licking their lips for a long time. Course it could get that thread and body count up.
It’s the light....
Hi y’all.
I’m not taking that bait on this thread...but I did send you a freepmail.
I beg to differ. Your comments that follow this sentence prove that you're wrong this once.
It just seems that we passively wait for candidates to self-select. That leaves the field to narcissists, power-seekers, professional, local, State and Federal politicians.
A brilliant and deep observation.
Our universities are not producing conservative leaders - the military establishment appears to be the only default sanctum having any potential for leaders with ethics, integrity and patriotic purpose i.e. sovereignty. But that military background has not been infallible. i.e. Colin Powell, Wesley Clark, John McCain, and dont even go John Kerry, Jack Murtha.
You're absolutely correct. I personally believe that many of our next few generations of GOOD leaders are going to come from the ranks of those who are serving now in our Armed Forces. The job that our men and women have done in Iraq and Afghanistan is stellar - perhaps unmatched by any others who have served throughout our history.
We have created the ultimate Hollywood, TV casting mentality for the most important role on Earth and it aint working. Candidates dont just show up like June bugs.
Again, a brilliant observation.
Somewhere in this vast land theres the perfect POTUS, a marine veteran, on a farm in Kentucky, deacon in his church, with common sense and love of country, running for County supervisor. Hell have to spend the next 20-30 years graduating from State Senator to Governor. We dont have that long. Is he in the building?
There's one man that I believe to be more qualified than any other to be the next President of the United States. He has a deeper understanding of this republic and its founding principles than anyone else alive today.
He's the greatest communicator in America today. No one speaks with more power, passion and eloquence in defense of what conservatives believe than he.
He was an important member of Ronald Reagan's national security and foreign policy team that ultimately brought down the Soviet Union.
He's been an educator and a government reformer.
He's been a radio and television commentator. He knows how to deal with the media.
He earned a PhD in government from Harvard.
For decades, he has been a consistent and courageous champion for the God-given, unalienable rights to life, liberty and private property, and has the actual political scars to prove it.
Things he said a decade ago or more show him to be a visionary. What he said then is as timely now as it was then.
This great man's name is in my tagline.
He's the one we should draft if we care about saving this country for our posterity.

~~~~~~~~Louisiana On The Attack~~~~~~~~(snip)
Senator Vitter has come under fire from conservatives lately with his endorsement of Former New York Mayor Rudolph Guilliani in the 2007 presidential race. Reverend Gene Mills of the Louisiana Family Forum said that he was “shocked and outraged” by Vitter’s endorsement of Gulliani.
Long-time conservative activist Richard Viguerie has urged conservatives not to support Rudy, Romney, or McCain in the 2008 presidential race (see video here).
Political insiders say that Vitter’s endorsement of Rudy could become more difficult to explain if former Senator Fred Thompson enters the presidential race. Thompson is already the favorite among many conservatives, even though he has not officially joined the race. A Louisiana effort to draft Thompson for president has recently launched, (see website here).
I have no intention of starting another crevo debate
I have no doubt they have several names they could call me that they haven’t already, but I’m not interested.
I think this is one of the most important threads on this forum in a long time and have no wish to hijack it
You are welcome ! :o)
