The quote below is just a partial part of the interview I saw on CNN last night with Cho's great aunt. She also said in the interview that he was messed up in the head from the time when he was little--while he was still in Korea. He wouldn't speak to anyone, etc. and how his parents were worried about him from the time he was little. Sounds like the guy had a defect from early on. Sometimes these things just can't be figured out. Their brains are maybe okay on the outside, but the mind gets goofed up at a young age. Take someone like Dahmer--he had a fascination with death from a young age. Something in his mind got crosswired and there was no hope for him after that. He ends up snacking on people. Cho's mind goes funny early on or from the very start and he ends up being a mass murderer.

That's entirely possible, or he could've just been born goofy to begin with. Take a family with excellent parentage and a solid, stable home life, for example. Two of the kids will turn out just fine and grow into productive adults, whereas the third child will be a problem right off the bat, and throughout his/her childhood and into adulthood. Reared in exactly the same conditions, but impossible to control.

I think young is relative. I don’t guess he was talking about someone 35.

Oh I know—that’s pretty much what I was saying—could have been a defect there from the very beginning or something got screwed up as a young child. I don't think Dahmer had a particularly bad childhood, but from what I understand, he sees a dead animal as a young boy and starts to go funny after that.

I know a lady—very nice person—was always fair and reasonable with her two sons. One got into drugs, fathered two children by two different women out of wedlock, and ended up shooting himself in the head at age 19. The other, just a couple of years younger, joined the Marines out of highschool and became a policeman. These two couldn’t have been more different—you would have never thought they were blood by looking at them or by their personalities.

I’ve also heard of identical twins that get separated early on, don’t know each other growing up or into adulthood, then somehow meet and find out they have lived very similar lives—getting into the same profession, marrying a spouse with the same name, etc. Some of this stuff is just there from the very beginning.

I sometimes wonder with someone like, say , Hitler. Say he had been adopted out as a baby. Would he have turned out similarly to what he did? Say the family was really sweet and treated him nicely. Would he have been the same monster? I guess the movie The Boys from Brazil dealt with that subject when they made a Hitler clone. Of course, there's no answer. Only GOD knows.
