JOHN MCCAIN is NOT FIT TO LEAD THIS NATION. John McCain is unstable. John McCain is freaking nuts!

I believe it!

I'd vote for him. Certainly over some POS liberal scumbag like Rudy.

Plus, he knows his Star Wars, which is a HUGE plus!

You’re right - I did see the video - and will give him some room here.

The Reagan event by the way - was off camera - and thought to be off mike.

Not a comparable situation in my mind.

Still - why would he sing that - silly in my mind.

He’s nuts

Sort of reminds me of the off-color joke he told that got him in trouble. Can’t remember who it was about. Hillary? Or maybe Janet Reno? I’m sure he’s done both, though.

If John is supporting the surge it is not out of loyalty to the President but out of loyalty to John McCain taking a calculated position across the aisle from Obama and Hillary ... imho

I disagree. He wanted a much larger force from the beginning. It was his major beef with Rumsfeld.

OK - I’m laughing with you - or at you - I can’t decide?

Hindsight - very very few predicted the insurgency on this scale.

A few did - but very few.

What the media is doing to him here is what the media did to Ronald Reagan when he made that off-the-record joke about bombing the Soviets - trying to make him look like a dangerous lunatic when he was just trying to be funny.

You are exactly right. He made a joke and the audience laughed. However, just as there was a message of serious resolve behind Reagan's joke their is also a serious statement here. He followed up by saying Iran should not be allowed to destroy Israel. I could not agree more.

True and it was just a difference of opinion, and Bush was right to go with Rumsfelds position. Its just McCain was right. Now we are doing it his way and it is working.

Well, I'm laughing at you, so let's make it mutual.

But seriously, I could vote for McCain, but never for Rudy. McCain may be crazy and ideologically volatile, but Rudy is a sane authoritarian liberal. I can't depend on the former to be with me, but I know the latter is against me.

Wow - Ok - I respect you view - but I cannot even imagine John McCain in the White House.

I won’t worry about it - he’s sinking like a stone.

If it is on Dridge, it will be on all the news channels. It won;t yield a postive spin. He should have said he wanted Guliani’s wife as Secretary of Defense....would have had less of a negative impact...

John McCain is freaking nuts!!!

Actually he is quite sane, in the vein of Reagan's "I declare war with Russia, the bombing will begin in five minutes". Crazy like a fox.

Hmmm... This may get me to consider supporting McCain now. Nah, there’s still that thing about McCain-Feingold that chaffes me.

McCain began his answer by changing the words to a popular Beach Boys song.

That was popular on the juke box at a local bar about 1980.

It's interesting that the same media who pumped him up against Bush is now trying to portray him as insane. You can't choose your friends too carefully.

They've got Guiliani as their "dream" Republican now, McCain is old news.

John McCain is sowing what he reaped by thinking the media...

Obviously you're not a farmer... you have to sow *before* you reap, my friend. ;)
