Imus may be a Republican, but he is simply not a right wing political commentator like Rush, and he is very far from being a stereotypical conservative. He is certainly no social conservative. Imus talks politics simply to have something to talk about. Mock insults are just part of his show.
He is not a racist, or if he is, he has hidden it extremely well for decades. He unequivocally retracted the botched joke that made him sound like a racist. Real bigots usually have track records of bigotry, and they don't retract their offensive statements.
His retracted comment will have absolutely no adverse effect on any black person. None.
I am fed up with these PC "gotcha!" hatefests in response to what are obviously just verbal mistakes. Does anyone actually believe that by uttering three dumb words Imus revealed himself as another Bull Connor?
These affairs tell us much more about the accusers than the accused.
He writes for a left-wing London, England daily called “The Independent”, he’s based in DC is seems, but this article doesn’t say much for his knowledge of the United States.
yea, the interesting part of this otherwise way overplayed story is how easily the libs abandon their own.
That was why I posted it. To show media bias. The whole story seems way over played to me.
this was from an Irish paper but I think the writer is employed by a British paper. And is British.
I wonder some times what the heck is going on over there in the mother country? Are they so out of royalty scandals that they have to re-write the fluff coming from this country? Noone really gives a fig about Imus, and a few people used the opportunity to write some trash about him just to fill up their columns in the newspapers and get paid for not doing anything productive. What a pity.
