Don Imus has gained an unlikely supporter in the person of Rosie O'Donnell. She's been defending him on The View railing against the "Thought Police" advocating his right to free speech. This is proper and courageous to a point. What she says is true and unequivocal. It was a joke and nothing more. So get over it.But one must wonder how supportive she'd be if Imus called the team "Nappy Headed Bull Dikes". Would she still be so understanding? Would she still give him artistic leeway if her personal predilection was called into question? Would she not rip him to pieces on national TV? One can only wonder.
