I have no alerts from accuweather other than the high surf alert.....but I did find this:
I've been watching palm trees get knocked from the 12 o'clock position to about the 9 o'clock position for the past few hours and I've seen several of those big palm tree bark/frond things go flying. They look like little airplanes when they take off and the winds held them aloft for quite some time.
I'd go out and try kite flying but I don't want to get clobbered by anything.
Gosh, it took 28 posts before a joker showed up... maybe things are improving around here.
Next time, wait until... oh, say 2,800 posts...
Hey, at least no one SAID anything about wanting us to fall into the ocean!
:)
Yet.

Storm Poses Serious Threat
Updated: Thursday, April 12, 2007 2:48 PM
A storm about to emerge out of the Rocky Mountain states is likely to become one of the biggest of the year. Beginning Friday and continuing through Monday, large populations will be impacted by heavy rain, substantial snow or destructive thunderstorms. This graphic shows where the worst impact of the storm will be Thursday night and Friday. Heavy snow will fall from eastern Colorado into the Great Plains with Denver getting as much as 10 inches. To the south, thunderstorm clouds will boil upward some releasing destructive winds, punishing hail and life-threatening tornadoes. This is a major storm event which needs to be taken seriously, especially in the region threatened by severe thunderstorms.

Oh, that’s a lovely scenario...NOT. Traffic lights out in that vicinity means the west side will be tied up for hours. Lucky me, I worked in Westwood up until last November...:)
And, watch out for them cows!!
See updates above....
No rain at all, just a very strong Northern wind. You can see for miles and miles here, it's really beautiful here, but the wind is a bit much.
Weather Update: Local weatherman Dallas Raines reported wind gusts up to 70 mph. There is a 30% chance of rain on Sunday.
Rain? What is that of which you speak?
Rain???
That is triggered by the earthquakes....
Short while ago, news also showed the roof ripped off a building in W. Hollywood.
Hoping for the destruction of someone’s home is not too cool, regardless how much you despise them. This ain’t war after all................
Batten down the hatches, and stay safe, Ern. I'd like to go outside but don't want anything to land on me.
True....
Oops, forgot your southerners haven’t had any of the wet stuff this year. That makes the wind even more frightening.
Thanks, Knitting. There is something unusual about this wind; haven’t seen anything like it in many a year. It actually started up around noontime yesterday.
150 firefighters on the Beverly Glen fire alone...
LOL!
Yikes, our cousins live on top of Beverly Glenn. My wife and I got married on their back lawn overlooking the city.
Accuweather is telling me I have blowing dust in the area....how is it out there ?
Oh, NO....
San Diegans, see post 35.
