...the part, most important, is that rudy will NEVER be POTUS. Ain’t gonna happen. Take your support and move on to a viable candidate.

We are ALL conservative and want smaller government, lower taxes, less regulation and more personal responsibility If you believe in small government and personal responsibility, how do you justify voting for a man that wants to pay for the abortions of those the behave in an irresponsible manner?

If that is true about you why are you supporting a man the EXPANDED city spending in his last five years as mayor and left New York with highest debt in the county other than the Federal debt?

If you believe in small government and personal responsibility, how do you justify voting for a man that wants to pay for the abortions of those the behave in an irresponsible manner?

How did I justify voting for a man who signed an amnesty bill for over 3 millions illegal aliens, or for a man who doesn't know what a VETO is? These 2 Presidents were CONSERVATIVES. You cast your vote and take your chance. No one is perfect. I'm willing to give Rudy a chance if he wins the nomination because the alternative will be much worse than Rudy Giuliani.

Because they were mostly conservative? Giuliani is mostly liberal, even on the issues you care about.

There isn't a politician in the nation that had coddled illegals more than Rudy, even filing lawsuits to protect them. He even criticized Bill Clinton for signing immigration legislation that was too restrictive.

Rudy just outlined his approach to illegal immigration during a speech in Southern California. I’m happy with it. It beats the heck out of Bush’s butt kissing in Mexico.

Given his record on the issue, why on earth would you believe him?

Illegal immigration/Immigration

Immigration politics have similarly harmed New York. Former mayor Rudolph Giuliani sued all the way up to the Supreme Court to defend the city’s sanctuary policy against a 1996 federal law decreeing that cities could not prohibit their employees from cooperating with the INS. Oh yeah? said Giuliani; just watch me. The INS, he claimed, with what turned out to be grotesque irony, only aims to “terrorize people.” Though he lost in court, he remained defiant to the end. On September 5, 2001, his handpicked charter-revision committee ruled that New York could still require that its employees keep immigration information confidential to preserve trust between immigrants and government. Six days later, several visa-overstayers participated in the most devastating attack on the city and the country in history.

New York conveniently forgot the 1996 federal ban on sanctuary laws until a gang of five Mexicans—four of them illegal—abducted and brutally raped a 42-year-old mother of two near some railroad tracks in Queens. The NYPD had already arrested three of the illegal aliens numerous times for such crimes as assault, attempted robbery, criminal trespass, illegal gun possession, and drug offenses. The department had never notified the INS.

CNN clip:

Announcer: "Back in 1996, mayor Giuliani went to federal court to challenge new federal laws requiring the city to inform the federal government about illegal immigrants."

Rudy Giuliani: "There isn't a mayor or a public official in this country that's more strongly pro immigrant than I am. Including disagreeing with President Clinton when he signed an anti-immigration legislation about two or three years ago."

The New York Immigrant Coalition Press Release, August, 1989:

Rudy would continue to make city services available to all immigrants, regardless of immigration status.

Prohibit city workers from reporting undocumented immigrants to the INS, unless criminal activity is involved….

Make sure that city workers understand what benefits immigrants are entitled to….

Encourage outreach to immigrant communities to encourage their utilization of city services….

Support the use of interpreters and translators in city government

Support bilingual and bicultural education with goals of learning fluent English and maintaining native language skills….

Oppose making English the “official language” of the U.S.

Support adding alienage to protected class under City’s Human rights Law.

Additionally, he has supported Bush's guest worker program.

Too bad a poll of Democrats is absolutely worthless concerning Republicans and who they will vote for in 2008 as the title of this article lyingly suggests.

Corrected: Democrats 2008: Giuliani 34%, McCain 17%

From the same article as you quoted above, came this paragraph. Wonder why you didn't include it, just to be FAIR AND BALANCED? This is why I am supporting Rudy Giuliani. His record is constantly being distorted, skewed and important information omitted for individual political agendas.

".....Indeed, people who have worked with Giuliani say he hasn't always been soft on the question of illegal immigration. Michael Cutler, a former INS agent, recounts a meeting sometime in the early 1980s in Sen. Alfonse D'Amato's office, during which Cutler led a group of immigration officers protesting what they said were insufficient criminal penalties for serial violators of federal immigration law. When he heard their concerns, D'Amato became angry and telephoned Giuliani, then U.S. attorney in New York, on his speaker phone. As Cutler and his fellow agents listened intently, Giuliani researched the relevant statute of the federal code, and then made it clear in no uncertain terms that he agreed: the penalties needed to be strengthened........."

Dream on. Fred Thompson will blow everyone of them out of the water as soon as he actually announces. Rudy is done! Lead him off the stage. A RINO is a RINO every day of the week.

I figured that it was a lame mistake, but anything can happen on-line with bogus polls like this one from bogus pollsters like "RT Strategies" or Quinnipiac.

Any primary poll (or even general election poll) that does not address ONLY "likely voters" is useless and is only designed to change YOUR vote to the perceived winner, according to the poll. People like to vote for winners, they likie the guy they vote for to win, even if he wasn't their original choice. Reputable pollsters will not go right into a poll with:

"I am going to read a list of people who might seek the Republican nomination for president in 2008, and I will read the list twice. I would like you to tell me who would be your first choice for the nomination."

...as this may get the alleged political leanings of the person at the other end of the line, but the reputable pollster will weed out non-voters by asking pre-poll questions like "Did you vote in 3 of the last 4 Presidential primaries?"

...because non-voters' opinions are worthless. This poll included those non-voters and is thusly worthless as a tool to guage how Republican primary voters will vote months from now.

Rasmussen and Zogby make better polls BECAUSE they purposely weed out non-voters...but this far out, polls are meaningless name recognition polls until after the summer when the campaigns for votes really start.

So, in other words, he has flip-flopped on the issue of illegal immigration. Given that and his lack of ability to stay faithful to his wife, why would anyone trust him to keep a campaign promise?

RINOs almost always stab all their voters in the back. Thus, the reason to find a true believer in conservatism to support.
