She's actually proud of having given him the forum, and defends her action as an all-American expression of religious freedom -- ignoring the fact that this man's religion seeks to destroy all others!

See her statement, issued yesterday.

Plano Republicans should be made aware of this.

From Shapiro's website:

"The Freedom and Justice Foundation contacted me with the request for Dr. Kavakci to follow the protocol set 2 years ago during their legislative day, when Imam Moujahed Bakhach of the Islamic Association of Tarrant County opened the Texas House with a blessing. Having worked with Dr. Kavakci on legislation, and seeing his resume and extensive inter-faith experience, I honored his request. He represents a substantial constituency of Texans who deserve to be represented.

Our country prides itself on freedoms, the most relevant today is freedom of religion. In our blessed country, everyone is free to pray according to their religion; and allowing a Muslim to express his freedom demonstrates what we all have in common in the United States… we are all AMERICANS!"

How unbelievably naive. Yes, freedom of all types is our ideal, and I'd never seek to deny another person the freedom to practice their religion...until that freedom interfered with mine or someone else's. The fact that this guy said,

"...Oh, Allah, guide us to the straight path, the path of those whom you have favored, not of those who have earned your wrath or of those who have lost the way. Our lord, have mercy on us from yourself and guide us in our efforts, strivings, and works."

shows without any doubt that he does NOT share Shapiro's or my ideal of freedom of religion, particularly insofar as we Jews are concerned. He is a religious bigot - simply because he could have delivered a far more peaceful and open-minded benediction. He could further have condemned all those of his religion who have engaged in, plan to engage in, or who simply WANT to engage in violence against non-Muslims simply based on the fact that they are non-Muslims.

Shapiro is a hopeless blissninnie. If this guy and his co-religionists got their way, she'd be among the first on the chopping block - literally. A big-mouthed female Jew isn't going to last long under Sharia law.

I’m not so sure that he was a complete pacifist:

Among the many misdeeds of the British rule in India, history will look upon the Act depriving a whole nation of arms, as the blackest.

The logic is very simple to me. The Muslim Jihad is worldwide and wants to destroy Israel.. So why would any Jew seek to go out of her (his) way to score brownie points with Islam? In this case by inviting this Imam to give the morning prayer at the Texas Senate. Why would any Jew do that? In this case it backfired, not that the stupid Jewish woman who invited him cares or even wants to know. She undoubtedly still thinks she did the right thing, the ecumenical thing.

While reality is this Imam made Muslim prayer that is very disrespectful to Christians and Jews. Probably delivered in Arabic to help fool the stupid infidels.
Just imagine a Jew or Christian delivering prayers to the Texas Senate that are anti Islam. We would never hear the end of it

You could also think of it as a self-cancelling prayer. “...guide us to the straight path, the path of those whom you have favored, not of those who have earned your wrath or of those who have lost the way....” An Islamic prayer for the conversion of Moslems from Islam.
