I see the left wing news media got to you. The only aks Rudy “gotcha: questions to turn off Republicans - then blow it up. Did you hear the LEFT ask any questions about Giuliani’s accomplishments, as they do when interviewing Democrats? NO.
Read about Giuliani’s accomplishments and if you don’t like him still, vote for Clinton. She’ll give you what you want.
I don’t want my tax dollars spent that way, but they are being spent NOW on teaching Illegal Aliens how to avoid deportation and how to scream for a free attorney while breaking laws in this country. Abortion, as much as we hate it, is NOT ILLEGAL! Poor women can do the same thing the illegal Mexicans are doing.....they can SUE for equal rights and we would still have to pay for their abortions. You make it sound like Rudy Giuliani is for tax payer funding of ALL abortions and that is not true. I will still vote for him for POTUS because he CAN WIN AND WILL WIN.
What utter BS.
Rudy’s on the wrong side of this issue too, yet you still support him.
“I will still vote for him for POTUS because he CAN WIN AND WILL WIN.”
He will so fracture the GOP that it’ll be a minority party for years to come.
Rudys on the wrong side of this issue too, yet you still support him.
I happen to like what Rudy has to say about illegal immigration. It's much more reasonable than anything Bush has said or done about the issue. Rudy wants border security first, with tamper proof ID cards for every person who comes into the country to work. English and US history is paramount to gaining citizenship and no one jumps to the front of the line.
He will so fracture the GOP that itll be a minority party for years to come.
I absolutely disagree with you. IMO, a successful 8 year Giuliani presidency will only strengthen the GOP and will keep the emphasis on winning the war against the terrorism of militant muslims, the most pressing issue of our time.
His “virtual fence” and history of defying Federal immigration law isn’t something *I* like, but I’m a conservative....
“I absolutely disagree with you. “
Of course you do. You’re a Rudy supporter.
“IMO, a successful 8 year Giuliani presidency will only strengthen the GOP and will keep the emphasis on winning the war against the terrorism of militant muslims, the most pressing issue of our time.”
It will weaken the GOP and see the rise of a 3rd party. Regardless of that, there’s no evidence that Guiliani would be at all capable or even interested in actually prosecuting this war. After all, he took Homeland Security so seriously that he recommended a man without even a college degree AND questionable ties to the mob to be head of an ENTIRE GOVERMENT DEPARTMENT!
You are afraid. You are willing to ignore that man’s statements and opinion of the Constitution and our liberties based on the idea that he will protect you. Fear is NOT a sound basis for policy.
The first time a Muslim committed a Jihad (Empire State shootings) and killed for Allah in NYC, Rudy’s response was to demand we give up our last defense against them - our personal arms.
Any politician who holds We the People in such contempt that he would deny them their inalienable right to arms and defense is someone *I* hold in absolute contempt. You go ahead and vote your fear, for all the good it’ll do you.
Your single issue arguments make no sense and any single issue voter is a sure loser. I am not a "fear" voter but you are scared to death your guns are going to be confiscated by President Rudy. How absurd.
Forgetting for the moment the multitude of issues on which Guiliani and Conservatives differ, I vote to advance my political agenda. If that makes me a loser, than I’m in honorable company. I will NOT sacrifice my honor to vote for someone who stands in opposition to the Constitution and my political beliefs. Rudy is on the same page as Hillary in all of that. In fact, he’s worse. He has actually DONE all those things.
“I am not a “fear” voter but you are scared to death your guns are going to be confiscated by President Rudy.”
Rudy has a RECORD of holding the Constitution in contempt. He has a RECORD of attempting to destroy the nation’s firearms industry. He has a RECORD of taking arms from law-abiding people. He has DONE these things. It isn’t a matter of one being in fear of what he MIGHT do, given power, but certain knowledge of what he has done to date.
This perception of Guiliani’s competence in national defense (perception is all it is) is ALL you HAVE here. Pitiful and sad.
Angry archivists and historians denounced the unprecedented hijacking of public property to private hands. Tom Connors, of the Society of American Archivists, said the transfer seemed part of a movement to "create barriers to the American citizen's right to know what their governments are doing."
The families of the police and fire rescuers who died in the attack balked at Giuliani's plan to take up to a year to dole out the money, with his new organization billing $2.2 million in anticipated administrative expenses (including six-figure salaries for friends he appointed as officers). The families argued that the fire union had far more quickly distributed $111 million with an estimated administrative cost of just $30,000.
Under embarrassing pressure from the victims' families, unions and state Attorney General Elliot Spitzer, Giuliani backed down. He promised to distribute the money within 60 days and fund his overhead from new donations. The families of the deceased rescuers, the real heroes of the September 11 attacks, received a one-time benefit of about $230,000 each from the Giuliani-privatized fund in 2002. That year, the former mayor earned some $8 million in speaking fees alone, more than $650,000 per month.
New York conveniently forgot the 1996 federal ban on sanctuary laws until a gang of five Mexicansfour of them illegalabducted and brutally raped a 42-year-old mother of two near some railroad tracks in Queens. The NYPD had already arrested three of the illegal aliens numerous times for such crimes as assault, attempted robbery, criminal trespass, illegal gun possession, and drug offenses. The department had never notified the INS.

Im pro-choice. Im pro-gay rights, Giuliani said. He was then asked whether he supports a ban on what critics call partial-birth abortions. No, I have not supported that, and I dont see my position on that changing, he responded. Source: CNN.com, Inside Politics Dec 2, 1999 http://www.ontheissues.org/2008/Rudy_Giuliani_Abortion.htm

RUDY GIULIANI (R), FORMER MAYOR OF NEW YORK CITY: I'm pro- choice. I'm pro-gay rights.KING: Giuliani supports a woman's right to an abortion, and back in 1999, he opposed a federal ban on late-term abortions.
GIULIANI: No, I have not supported that, and I don't see my position on that changing.
KING: Immigration could be another presidential landmine. Back in 1996, Mayor Giuliani went to federal court to challenge new federal laws requiring the city to inform the federal government about illegal immigrants.
JEFFREY: He took the side of illegal immigrants in New York City against the Republican Congress.
KING: Giuliani opposes same-sex marriage but as mayor, he supported civil unions and extending health and other benefits to gay couples. He also supported the assault weapons ban and other gun control measures opposed by the National Rifle Association.
GIULIANI: I'm in favor of gun control. I'm pro-choice.
Republican Big-Wigs Support Pro-Abortion Event in NY
Pro-abortion Governor George Pataki and New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani, who also supports unrestricted abortion, are co-chairs of the 2000 Choice Award Presentation to be held on May 30 at the St. Regis Hotel in New York City. The event is sponsored by the Republican Pro-Choice Coalition, a group that is campaigning for the removal of the pro-life plank from the Republican National Platform.

As Tom Bevan of RealClearPolitics has pointed out, Rudy is an adherent of the same approach to illegal immigration that John McCain, Ted Kennedy, George Bush, and Harry Reid have championed:
"While McCain has taken heat for his support of comprehensive immigration reform, Rudy is every bit as pro-immigration as McCain - if not more so. On the O'Reilly Factor last week Giuliani argued for a "practical approach" to immigration and cited his efforts as Mayor of New York City to "regularize" illegal immigrants by providing them with access to city services like public education to "make their lives reasonable." Giuliani did say that "a tremendous amount of money should be put into the physical security" needed to stop the flow of illegal immigrants coming across the border, but his overall position on immigration is essentially indistinguishable from McCain's."
That's bad enough. But, as Michelle Malkin has revealed, under Giuliani, New York was an illegal alien sanctuary and "America's Mayor" actually sued the federal government in an effort to keep New York City employees from having to cooperate with the INS:
"When Congress enacted immigration reform laws that forbade local governments from barring employees from cooperating with the INS, Mayor Rudy Giuliani filed suit against the feds in 1997. He was rebuffed by two lower courts, which ruled that the sanctuary order amounted to special treatment for illegal aliens and were nothing more than an unlawful effort to flaunt federal enforcement efforts against illegal aliens. In January 2000, the Supreme Court rejected his appeal, but Giuliani vowed to ignore the law."
If you agree with the way that Nancy Pelosi and Company deal with illegal immigration, then you'll find the way that Rudy Giuliani tackles the issue to be right down your alley.
