CNN building is a bit misleading. The CNN Center has a hotel and atrium with a small shopping mall, as well as the office building that houses CNN. The shooting reportedly happened at the Omni hotel, per Fox News. CNN staff are not in danger.
It’s kind of like worrying about NBC news staff if there is a shooting somewhere in Rockefeller Center. Rockefeller Center is a big place.

Shooting at CNN Center complex
A man shot a woman at the CNN center complex today. A witness who is a CNN employee saw a male shoot a black female twice near the Omni hotel, which is part of CNN Center. Police have a suspect in custody. The condition of the woman is unknown.

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - A man was arrested after shooting a woman in the face on Tuesday at the CNN Center complex in Atlanta, CNN said.
The U.S. television network reported that its newsroom had been evacuated due to the incident, which it said appeared to have resulted from an argument between the man and woman. It said two people, including the woman, had been taken to a hospital.
