Russia is playing good cop to our bad cop, rattling Iran's cage.
Pelosi is on her way to Syria to warn them, like Rockefeller did last time, that military action is imminent. Then we'll wait to see if they release the hostages.
If they don't, we'll probably really pull the trigger. That was probably part of the reason behind the "surge", which while real and necessary for its own reasons, was perhaps also a pretext for beefing up troops in Iraq prior to a strike. If we hit Iran, there is a chance they may launch some kind of retaliation into Iraq, and we're getting ready for it.
Thats my guess. Whats yours?
When russian publically annouced a few weeks ago that they were suspending the construction of the nuclear plant in Iran, that raised an major eyebrow and made me wonder what the hell had gone on behind the scenes to have that happen.
It could be more psy-ops against Iran by the US, but something tells me the Russians have been put on notice to get their people and resources out of Iran by a certain date. Iran is in panic mode and this snatching of soliders was a total act of desperation in the face of mounting evidence that the US was dead serious on a major attack on their nuclear facilities and other targets of interest.
I suspect that Russia is feeding the Iranians nuclear weapons to get them to attack our troop in Iran. Russia is running about in a shiny fire engine, but has gasoline in the water tanks.
I tend to suspect that is is going to esclate far beyond what we suspect, and may end in the invasion of Taiwan and South Korea as we pull our fleets from the Japan sea to support our troops in Iraq.
Thanks for the reply, it helps to clarify the issue.
"If we hit Iran, there is a chance they may launch some kind of retaliation into Iraq, and we're getting ready for it."
Very possible. Given reports of US troop buildups around the Iraq/Iran border. It's also a given that possibly hundreds to thousands of Iranian agents are already in Iraq with orders to attack US soliders if the US commits an attack against Iranian nuclear sites.
I'd like to ammend my response, to agree with you. We're probably going to hit them either way. Grabbing the sailors probably just clinched it.
I have long believed that an invasion of Taiwan would be coordinated with a brush war elsewhere which would either make our intervention in Taiwan impossible, or at least make a refusal to intervene publicly justifiable, whichever way you prefer to look at it.
If that were the case, now for example, that would mean that rather than a desperate move, seizing the sailors was baiting the hook. Thanks, pal, now you're making me nervous.
The chinese have invested billions in the 2008 olympics and is supposed to be their world wide "look at me! look at me!" party.
There is about 0 chance they are going to invade Taiwan before next summer.
This email is garbage. It is far-left wing psychobabble fueled by wild conspiracy theories.
Change it to Operation: Bite Me
Thank you.
I call BS.
And exactly why we would do it before then. The Russian general is right that we would not put in troops.
If Bush really believes we need to do something about the war on terror now would be his last chance.
so if oil prices go up when there is a war scare who benefits?...Roosha
Observers comment that this dispatch represents a high-level orchestrated leak from the Kremlin, in effect a war warning, which draws on the formidable resources of the Russian intelligence services, and which deserves to be taken with the utmost seriousness by pro-peace forces around the world.
Russian Intel=Pro-Peace forces
who would have ever suspected?

Won't this play hell with Walmart's stock,,,not to mention Harbor Freight Tools.
I seriously doubt anything is going to happen.
In addition we would not attack without giving them an ultimatum stating our demands prior to it.
The Russians are wrong again...
I believe no one is going to do anything--in April. There will be a great deal done behind closed doors that we may not hear about for a few years.
I can only pray this is true.
