Frankly, I resent that vets sell food that don't enhance our pet's health and then make money treating them when they become ill. I have been angry at my vet for over a year since he started selling Greenies. Google up Greenies and you see how they are cellulose and gunk up the intestines and there is a group of online photos of a surgery to remove this undigested matter from a dog's intestines. One place did a test to try and disolve one in the equivalent of a dogs digestive tract and it just sat there! My fondest desire is for a holistic vet to decide he/she loves the heat and wants to move to NW Arizona.
Sounds like your lil guy is about as spunky as mine ususally is. Mine picks on our Shelty often as well. By the way, he is improving (big sigh of relief)
I am unsure if you have heard about this. Back in February in South Africa, ethylene-glycol was found in pet food, which caused poisonings as well.

Hope all is well. Thx for all your support.
Here we go again.....recalled treats, now for salmonella:
The announcement is unrelated to the more extensive recall of melamine-tainted dog and cat food made by Ontario, Canada-based Menu Foods that led to kidney failure in pets around the country.
Eight in One Inc., a division of United Pet Group Inc., is recalling all packages of Dingo Chick’N Jerky, Dingo Kitty Chicken Jerky and Dingo Ferret Chicken Jerky.
Salmonella can cause serious infections in pets and children, the elderly and people with weakened immune systems. In pets, salmonella can cause diarrhea, fevers, vomiting, loss of appetite, lethargy and abdominal pain. Animals that do not get sick can infect other pets or humans.
The bacteria could also infect people handling the pet treats. Humans infected with the salmonella can experience fever, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea and abdominal cramps. It could also cause more serious problems such as arterial infections, endocarditis, arthritis, muscle pain, eye irritation and urinary tract problems.
Eight in One has received a report of a dog infected by salmonella, which lead to further testing of this product. Some, but not all, of the samples tested were contaminated.
The treats were sold around the country at Target, PetSmart and other stores.
The company asks consumers to throw away unused portions of the jerky treats. To obtain a refund, call 888-232-9889.
