"But you just can't expect reason from people who call Code Pink part of their constituency."
Guiliani's "constituency" includes some pretty unsavory people too.

Then we have already ended as a nation, if a liberal lawyer how wants to rule us is the answer....
You may vote away liberty for a little perception of security, but I won't.

I'll take Fred Thompson for $200, Alex. Rudy wasn't even on the board.

Not to reply again, but I find it interesting that you assume that opposition to a LIBERAL couldn't possibly be coming from conservatives....
Interesting indeed.
Oh, and the 2nd Amendment is not a mere "social issue". It defines a man's views of the proper role of government versus We the People. Rudy fails that miserably. He's to the LEFT of Howard Dean, yet you support him and accuse conservatives of being "liberal Democrats"....
Amazing.

I'm reposting this from an earlier thread because it's appropriate:
Like millions of others, I am tired of Republican politicians who talk a good game, then get nothing done, get slapped around by libs and the girly-media, then grovel about it.
I want a President who kicks ass, takes names, then reads the scoreboard on the 11 o'clock news. I'm tired of wimpiness and the inability to communicate.
And losing the White House in '08 is simply not acceptable. No way.
Wanna know why I've decided to take the flames tonite? Because I'm watching Brit at 6pm and they're showing Rahm Emmanuel and Chuckie Schmukie explaining how they were going to grind Gonzalez up into a pulp, over nothing, and the only Republican they could find to comment said crap like "mistakes were made" and "they should be more forthcoming" like a little girl.
I'm sorry, but I can't take these castrated pickleweasels anymore. Gimmee some Rudy.

Incorrect.
He is also a fiscal conservative. Read his interview with Larry Kudlow.
Interview with Rudy Giuliani (Larry Kudlow)
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1807637/posts
GUILIANI: If you're talking about a response of government, probably what government can do best is to try to limit spending and try to bring down government spending. We haven't done that in a while. We haven't done it in a concerted way. And it seems to me that's how the federal budget can have the best impact on the private economy. And make it clear that we're going to extend the tax cuts and it's not just a temporary thing so people can look forward to long term planning. And look for other ways in which we can put money back in the private sector.
GIULIANI: I regard myself as a supply sider for sure. I mean, watched Ronald Reagan do it and learned it, so it works. Taxes get reduced, more revenue come in. Practiced it as the mayor of New York. I'm the first mayor ever to do that. It's almost harder to do in New York than it is in Washington. There was less of an acceptance for it and more resistance to it. But I have lowered taxes 22, 23 times. I started with a $2.3 billion deficit and by lowering taxes, we cleared that deficit and we started building a pretty big surplus.
GIULIANI: I'm against most taxes. I think that taxes have to exist. They should exist at the lowest possible level and to the extent that we can, we shouldn't invent more.
If we were doing income tax for the first time. In other words, if we were starting off new back at the beginning of the last century, then probably we should go with a--we probably should've gone with a flat tax, maybe two levels of tax, but really simple.

Remember when we used to complain when Clinton co-opted Republican policies, implemented them, and then took credit for them?
Of course not, you just signed up a few days ago to troll, so I guess you didn't know.

Was Rudy's gun control agenda or his global warming hysteria support co-opted by Clinton?

"What I would do is make clear to him that he's not going to have nuclear weapons. That's not an option. Containment may have worked with the Soviets, but as far as I can recall, the Soviets weren't planning to come here and kill us. They didn't blow up the World Trade Center twice. We've got a different kind of enemy here. Ahmadinejad has to be clear that we're not going to let him move to the stage where he can have nuclear weapons." And how is that different than what any democrat says when asked about Iran?
Most of them will say that we can't let him have weapons, and if he doesn't stop we'll make it clear that he can't have weapons.
How do you make it clear? What is Rudy's plan for getting Iran to listen to him without running the price of oil over 100 bucks a barrel (it jumped 5 bucks in 5 minutes on the mere rumor that somebody fired on one of our ships). Is he going to sic his ex-wives on them?
Is he going to talk them to death, or deny them handguns? Maybe he'll forbid them to have Ferrets. Or kick them out of the theatre and refuse to show their art.
What has Rudy said he'd DO to "make it clear"?
I'll give you points if you can find any of the top 10 candidates who has said that we WON'T make it clear to Iran that they can't have nukes.
To: FairOpinion
Yes, and we just saw the consequence of electing "republicans" and hoping they'll be better than the democrats who would replace them.
Pryor and Leiberman voted with us, but two of ours defected to the other side. I give McConnell credit for holding all the other moderates in place.
God forbid we put Rudy in power and he changes his mind about the war like he did about his first wife and his second wife and his "strong stand" against the unions working on cleaning up after 9/11.
Rudy won't back down, except when he backs down, and he won't change his mind except for when he changes his mind.
And since he has few principles in common with conservatives, we can't count on his ethics and morality and character to make him do the right thing -- because his inclination in so many cases is to do the wrong thing.

LOL, It's been a while since Mrs. McGillicuddy beat us up in freshman English, so I had to do a google search to reconfirm my suspicions.
