I bought it off of ebay, somebody is making homemade copies and selling them. I believe the name was "Hard to Find Films".

The 'Black' crows in Dumbo are the only characters who show any kindness towards the little elephant presumably knowing what its like to be societal outcasts. If anything its an anti-racist statment. And they sing the best Disney song of all time, 'When I see a Elephant Fly'.

Al Jolson was a very difficult person to get along with. Espeically towards the end of his life when the movies about him were made. Larry Parks was married to Betty Garrett who played Irene Lorenzo on 'All in the Family'.

Here are some more that you'll probably never see.

The original version of Showboat.

Many artists (in any medium) are difficult personalities. A good number of them are schmucks, plain and simple. And some are flat-out nutjobs.

As a professional artist for the past twenty years, I find myself in all three categories.

South has little to do with "racist undertones."

Talk to a black man in ATL. He's going to tell you he's from the "Dirty South."

Talk to a white man from Alabama. The "South".

The only people who consider the South first in terms of racism kow nothing of the place.

Which version of Showboat? The 1929 version or the 1936 James Whale film with Paul Robeson? The latter is great and is actually much less racist than the awful 1951 MGM version.

I'm thinking of the 1929 version that was revived in the 80s.

Al Jolson was a very difficult person to get along with. Espeically towards the end of his life when the movies about him were made.

That's what I hear. He was married four times.

I have the movie on Beta. I copied it off a Japanese laserdisc. It has both English and Japanese soundtracks.

It is a great movie and beyond Politically Incorrect.

The original version of Showboat.

If by the original you're referring to the one Irene Dunne starred in, it was extremely politically incorrect.

Especially when Dunne imitates the slow moving, foot shuffling and eye rolling negro stereotype. It would send the PC Nazis into hysteria.

You'll never see it again except on DVD/VHS.

I was thinking of the theatrical version.

It was revived in the 80s sometime, and the liberals went ape-shit.

I paid $30 for a copy of it on Ebay a couple of years ago. That $30 could of belonged to Disney - but nooooooooooooooo

If they do come out with it and it is digitally enhanced I will purchase it.

I saw the 1937 and 1951 movie version. And I can guarantee the liberals would go ape-shit over the 1937 movie version also.

Desn't take much to get them going.

They're as touchy as the Muslims and the NAGS.

This film was released in numerous countries around the world by Disney. They are only embarassed by this movie in the US where they fear ignorant backlash. You will find comments about "happy slaves". This film takes place after the Civil War.
