Saturday Shows for March 24th, 2007

Below are the topics and guests announced for these programs, along with my take on the "memes" that the shows are trying to push.  With each guest's name are a series of links that I found in a web search that helped me get a handle on who they are and what their likely positions will be when they are interviewed.

The Beltway Boys (Mort Kondrake, Fred Barnes)

CNBC's Tim Russert Show (Tim Russert)

Fox News Watch (Eric Burns)

Journal Editorial Report (Paul Gigot) - FNC show page

The Weekend Talk Show Preview Thread is up

It has been posted at FreeRepublic at

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/1806256/posts

It will also be cross posted (sometime soon) to my blog at

http://wizards.townhall.com/

Here's a sample of  my usually witty commentary...

This is week two of the ongoing soap opera in Washington regarding the scandal of "the Exploitable Eight."  The decibel level has been raised considerably and there is little or no attempt at masking the naked partisanship of the attacks by the Dhimmicrats and their myrmidon minions in the drive by media.  The hysteria level is truly over the top, but that's part of the plan.  They can't let anyone pause for a breath because people might actually figure out that there's nothing but partisan hyperventilation going on here...

Oh, and the second thing this whole imbroglio is about is distracting people from the obscene spectacle that the nations mother in law, Nazi Pelosi, put us all through with her bribe fest over the "Surrender in Iraq in 2008 Act." ...

This weekends shows appear to be as carefully orchestrated a partisan attack as any I've seen in a long time, with a single minded devotion to doing damage to the White House, regardless of cost to the nation or the world...

... I think I've got a pretty good handle on the DBM's intentions this week, but I also have this nagging suspicion that their own plans may blow up on them, and that doesn't even consider the inconvenient truth of Iran's madmen intruding on our DBM's "narrative" so unexpectedly. ...

I didn't have a visit with my surgeon this week so I laid out my plans based on that.  Unfortunately I spent from 3 AM to Noon dealing with a car crash involving my oldest son.  He's OK, but it did take up the better part of eight hours dealing with it so far.  So I'm late.  Big deal.  I, for one, have my priorities straight!

Again, he is OK.  Otherwise you might never hear from me again.  I'm doing a lot of "thank You" prayers this weekend, believe you me.

Oh, my goodness.

I think that is the BEST commentary on the political scene you have ever written.

You always do a wonderful job..and I am in awe of not only your opinions...but your way with words. You are a terrific writer.

You have today's news meme down pat.

I will tell you that I just finished reading a note in a Robert Novak column that said that Rahm Emanuel is FUMING..because, according to Novak, it was Emanuel that first exposed the US attorney scandal..even though Schumer is taking credit...and Emanuel actually talked about it on the House floor...

But, Emanuel's take on the House floor, according to Novak, was that while all are caught up who knew what, when....the REAL scandal are the corruption cases that were stopped...

Darling, my thank you prayers include you and all of my other friends here on FR, particularly on this thread and PARTICULARLY people like you.

You guys are my extended family and mean a lot to my sanity. Knowing that you guys are around gives me an anchor to turn to when things get nuts, like today.

By the way, totally unrelated, but something I want to share with my friends, Mad Mad Mad Mad World is showing on Turner Classic Movies right now. It is one of my favorite movies (I actually saw it on first run in the theaters). It adequately describes my view of "reality," such as it is.

There is some symmetry in the universe, afer all.

Remember....they were looking for the big W!!!HA!

I haven't heard from snugs...I know her Dad is in the hospital..and they were discussing hip surgery.

I did freepmail her with the winners...but, it could be tomorrow or later before she has a chance to post them.

I am sure everyone will understand.
