Oh...almost forgot...Let me know when the smelts are running in W/P...Got some old-timers that are looking forward to a mess...)

What is W/P? I have no idea when the smelts run. I watch the lobstermen go out at 4 and I make my woodworks. I was interested if you were near. Just to satiate my curiosity.

>>>Dogs playing poker. Now THAT's Art!

The art world says you're right.

NEW YORK, Feb. 16, 2005
(AP) A pair of paintings from the famed series depicting dogs playing poker sold for $590,400 at auction today.

The two works — "A Bold Bluff" and "Waterloo" — were among 16 paintings Coolidge was commissioned to create for Brown & Bigelow, a St. Paul, Minnesota-based advertising company, in 1903. Of the 16, nine, including the two sold today, are of dogs playing poker.

The two works capture moments in a poker game played by five dogs, among them a St. Bernard that ends up collecting the pot on a bluff.

I used to laugh myself silly every time I looked at copies of those paintings -- the expressions are priceless.

Me and my Navy buds used to sit at the bar and make up conversations to go with the expressions. I think some beer company may have used them at one time to put in bars with ads. Seems that was the only place we saw them a lot LOL

What is a Whitten-Parrett stream? I've seen some streams in my life, but none that I'd call a whitten, much less a Parrett. Maybe a slowboy, or a quick-lizard.

Did my brother Dan fix your computer? Are you on route 1? I think we know each other through association. I am glad to see there is one other conservative in Maine, I was getting lonely.
