Absolutely. And Hillary who now bitches that we didn't send more troops, then did send more troops--

Hillary and Bill tripled deployments (for Meals on Wheels) while slashing our military 40%.

America would be in a world of hurt with the twin traitors as Comrades-in-Chief again.

Ronald Reagan also supported a woman's right to choose at one time.

No candidate will ever be elected on a platform of total ban on abortions - and certainly not in Massachusetts. Or the U. S.

For one reason, an abortion is no further away now than a trip to the drug store for a pill.

The 2006 GOP candidate for governor in Ohio, Ken Blackwell, a good man, ran on an anti-abortion platform including even forbidding abortion in cases of rape and incest.

He lost big-time: 60 to 40 percent

I wonder how many persons on the FR site would not consider abortion immediately if their wife were raped...??

Romney has stood up for traditional marriage in Mass. despite big pressures; and his own marriage and family are exemplary.

Abortion will not be stopped by fiat. It will end, and is ending, when people understand the sanctity of life.

Put on the defensive, women will defend abortion - even if they are against it in their own instance. They do not want all options closed.

"...regardless of one's beliefs about choice, you would hope it would be safe and legal." -- Mitt Romney

Just because there's no magic switch to get rid of all abortion right now doesn't mean there aren't lots of legislative steps (and judicial appointments) to take toward that end.

You present a false choice.

And Romney is on record stating that even if people believe abortion is wrong, they should support it as a legal right. So much for changing hearts and minds.

At least he has the most important characteristic right... anyone who is a social conservative before being a fiscal conservative needs their head checked.

Anyone who pays more attention to money than character needs their wisdom checked. Good character will tend to result in good fiscal policy--but not vice versa.

You have just enunciated what Reagan stated prior to being a Presidential candidate and always implied (you pointedly ignored my reference to Reagan in the previous post in addition to Ken Blackwell.)

(And you also ignored my comment on the instance of a rape of one's own wife. Do tell us your lofty insights into this...)

Abortion is absolutely a legal right AS LONG AS IT IS LAW. To state otherwise is to condone the ignoring of every law.

If you think differently, try breaking the restrictions on picketing at abortion clinics. TO CHANGE THE LAW, YOU HAVE TO BE IN A POSITION TO AFFECT THE COMPOSITION OF THE JUDICIAL BRANCH THAT INTERPRETS THE LAW.

Romney has made it emphatic that he is against abortion but that at present it is permitted by existing law. He is correct.

We have had success in making it more difficult to obtain abortions. And there is the distinct possibility of overturning Roe vs. Wade and returning abortion to each state to decide individually.

Because this crap has been refuted hundreds of time on this website.

Try reading for once.

Abortion is absolutely a legal right AS LONG AS IT IS LAW.

Oh gag me with a spoon. No one said differently.

Let me know when you have something intelligent to post.

sorry, but giuliani cannot win and the dems know it. if he has the nomination and is pulling away in the polls, the dems know all they have to do is pull out the cross dressing photos and parade the x-wives (with associated garbage) and the conservative voters will just stay home.

meanwhile, they attack romney with the globe and the times... yet he is a distant 3rd (which at this early stage is nothing)... why would they do that unless they see him as the real threat..and don't want him to secure the nomination.

keep in mind, part of the game is making sure you get the challenger you can defeat.

It is surprising indeed that Romney is not moving up. He is a very articulate candidate.

how much the public knows a candidate depends on the media.. which is dem controlled. romney scares them, being the only candidate that has a chance to pull from their soccer mom base.
