OH... those bulbs, Gotcha. Yeah they have pins.
But since the topic was household bulbs that's why I thought Halogen Desk bulbs. My mistake.

Me too! Us kids in school would push blobs of mercury around on the wooden desk tops with our fingers while the teacher looked on. The teacher would explain it in the thermometer and once broke the thermometer to prove it. How did we survive for half a century beyond doing that?

How did we survive for half a century beyond doing that?I'm still wondering how I survived lawn darts, riding a bicycle without a helmet, riding in my mother's Mercury Comet without seatbelts. That car had a vinyl bench seat in the back... At the time, I wore a lot of polyester pants, which gave my read end a µ (coefficient of friction) of less than 0, without seatbelts! It was more exciting than any carnival ride!
