Well, trisham (here since December 2002), I'm here since May 1998 and I say mngran is exactly right.
If you do not believe we govern the state through our representatives in Congress assembled, then you are a revolutionary. It's your perfect right to be such, but if you DO believe in the principles on which the Republic is founded, then you are accusing the People of the United States (through their representatives) of treason.
What else do you do to stop the Democrats; write a letter?
Win elections.
"Whatever. Johnson used upwards of a half million troops, more bombs than we dropped on the Germans, chemical defoliant, strategic hamlets, forcible relocation, and a secret invasion of Cambodia"
All factually true and yet withough the perspective of the entire war - all liberal tripe. Sure we dropped lots of tons of bombs, but on the entire landscape of Vietnam. We could have totally destroyed the NV means to fight a war, but what we did was bascially have 2 serious bombing campaigns the entire war. (See Linebacker I and II)
>>>The Dems won the last election, so you can't say it's treason for them to try to implement their policies.<<<
The Constitution reads, "Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying War against them, or in adhering to their Enemies, giving them Aid and Comfort."
Until that statement is changed by a lawful Amendment to the Constitution, no election result, nor any legislation, can lawfully alter its definition. Many on the left could be tried for treason (but that would require the President to defend the Constitution).
