Really? How interesting. Did the coverage you watched show that a retired firefighter, whose son was killed in the WTC, is campaigning for him and says that this charge is unjustified?

That's Lee Ielpi. He apparently works for Giuliani now, heading Firefighters For Rudy. He was saying that Giuliani pulled them from WTC initially for health risks but then returned them fully to the site for another 9 months. First I've heard that variant on TV or in print. I'll wait to see more on whether that's the truth or not. Funny we haven't seen it yet from anyone except Ielpi.
He was the only one who spoke up for Rudy. No indication yet whether Ielpi's firefighter son was one of those who was recovered or not. I'll find out.
FNC mentioned that Rudy is flying in tonight for a big fundraiser (notably having avoided the firefighters' forum). But he is going to invite 'a group of firefighters' to attend his $2300 per plate fundraiser for free. FNC mentioned Rudy did win some support from a group of firefighters in SC. So the 'group of firefighters' might be just Ielpi and some SC firefighters Rudy flies in to parade for the cameras.
It's not exactly a picture of 'firefighters all love Rudy' which is what the Juliebots keep pretending.

No, but it's not "they all hate Rudy" either.

No, demonstrably, at least one does like him. Probably more. In thousands of firefighters, there are probably a few who like Stalin or anyone else you'd name, human nature having a contrarian element.
I found one thing interesting in the MSNBC coverage.
Interviewer: "Which candidates that appeared before the forum today hit the hot buttons? And which ones didn't?"
Schaitberger: "They all made their positions clearly known, they each had their own style and message. But certainly John Edwards, Chris Dodd, Duncan Hunter, Joe Biden, Hillary Clinton, they all did a fine job. ... Well I can only tell you the reaction from the crowd. I really thought those I mentioned really hit the issues and the points, they were able to connect with the firefighters in the hall and the response to each of those was very strong and very energetic."
Now, Marple, what exactly could Duncan Hunter have said to a tough Dim union to merit such a strong response? I'll remind you that McStain and Gilmore were there too. That made me very curious.
How about you, Ultra Sonic? What did Hunter say to wow these guys? You gonna have a thread on it?
