Rest in peace.
RIP
She did a lot of her own trapeze stunts in "The Greatest Show On Earth" (1952).
Annie Get Your Gun.
Great Movie! R-I-P Betty!
Perils of Pauline was my favorite. She was cute in that. Sincere condolences to her family, someone like that will be missed.
One of my all-time favorites! I even worked with one of the "fathers" for a while - long after this film.
Loved, loved, loved Betty Hutton! May she truly Rest in Peace, always.
*smooches to Miss Hutton*
If you can settle the ID of Private Ratzkywatzky, its never too late.

*It had to be you ... wonderful you ... it had ... to .. be .. you.*
She does a real cute comic turn on the chorus in one place that I just love.
She was cute and funny and had a unique charm. Very much a girl next door type.
any relation to Danny Hutton of Three Dog Night?

I thought she had died in the 1970's.
I liked her quite a bit, even though she could occasionally be over-the-top in her comedy performances (anyone recall "Red, Hot and Blue" -1949, with Victor Mature, for example?). She was a BIG star in the 1940s, but you don't hear of her as much nowadays as some others. Probably because she was with Paramount, and such Paramount product doesn't seem to circulate as much as MGM, WB, or Fox does on cable. Anyway, she was wildly energetic, and made a real cute, hyperkinetic, blonde rag-doll... belting out bouncy songs like "Doctor, Lawyer, Indian Chief" and "Murder, He Says." All in all, she should be more well-known and acclaimed than she is. A very prominent comedienne from the old days, who in many ways really doesn't get her due.
I hope it was peaceful. I saw some of her old movies when I was little and thought she was so beautiful.
RIP Betty Hutton.
