Here's the problem.

Couric brought a slew of Today show people with her to CBS------they 're running the news like it was a morning talk show.

As another wit said----"Katie, all people want is for you to tell them what happened in the world that day."

For the author of this article to blame the low ratings of left wing lunatic Katie Kouric news broadcast on others shows low ratings is either extreme delusion, or extreme stupidity, or just extreme lying.

Despite that nice things that I can say for Judge Judy the person, folks watching "Judge Judy" the show are likely switching channels to something other than the news at 6pm, or just switching the set off.

The funny thing is, one of the biggest factors affecting the 6pm news isn't the Internet competition or cable news or even the (lack of) personalties on the newscast. People just aren't getting home from work by 6pm anymore. Between mandatory overtime (or even unpaid overtime to get the job done) and longer commutes, people are walking in their homes around 6:30 or 7:00.

And back when I was stuck in traffic, I'd have on the news station to get the latest on the traffic. So when I got home, I wanted food, not the network news. And time with my kids (though I think I could be in the minority about that one).

CBS would have been smarter to hire Judge Judy to read the news.

I cannot believe they don't know the problem is their slant. It is just that they are so invested in their role as inculcator that they cannot abandon it.

Blaming your customer is right up there with believing your own PR: certain failure. They also seem to think they own the viewer.
