Dwight was a bit more eloquent than Rudy but they both express the understanding that the rule of law is the greatest protector of freedom. Rudy Giuliani came out in favor of McCain-Feingold in 2000.

...in wartime, they have other concerns as well.Priorities. Even the msm are figuring it out.

In a letter to its members Friday, the International Association of Fire Fighters excoriated Giuliani for his November 2001 decision to cut back the number of firefighters searching the rubble of Ground Zero for the remains of some 300 fallen comrades. The 280,000-member union accused him of carelessly expediting the cleanup process with a scoop-and-dump operation after the recovery of millions of dollars in gold, silver and other assets from the Bank of Nova Scotia that had been buried.

M. Thatcher - thank you so much for taking the time to look this up. We returned a while ago from a wedding and I hadn't realized this was a point of controversy.
I can see that facts are like kryptomite to some of these people which tells us everything we need to know.
Just as a lot of them don't like being reminded of their own harsh words from 1999, my guess is they won't wish to be reminded in 2009 of their foolish posts being made today.

It's 2 years till the election
Hillary may not even beat Obama.
But only Rudy can beat Hillary?
I don't want this to sound rude, but I can't think of another way to say it.
I sometimes wonder if many the Rudy supporters are lazy.
They want a win, but they see a chance to win without having to invest all that time and money.

Interesting but irrelevantWrong. You contention was that Rudy wants to protect our rights through the rule of law, when in fact he supports abominations like McCain-Feingold which uses the law to abridge our freedoms.

"An aside, Hitler was once Time's 'Person Of The Year' too. Rudy's in company there. Both egomaniac, psychotic, control freak, whack jobs."Outstanding. I used to have to read DU to see Republicans compared to Hitler, but now I can just come here. That'll save me some timethanks!

Giuliani/Santorum would be my dream come true.
Slam-dunk. Dems would be looking at 2016 for their next shot.

There are those on FR who are going to be mighty upset at Hannity. His morning update was clearly in favor of Rudy......his last words on the update was that .....THERE IS A REASON WHY RUDY IS OUT FRONT........(slight paraphrasing)
Thankfully, he has clearly separated himself from the ranting against Rudy by his great friend, Levin.
A fill in for Levin dared to say something nice about Rudy and the live thread crashed and burned.
This type of intolerance makes the right wing appear to be everything it was always accused of......seem right on the money. Mean spirited, bigoted, and intolerant of any who stray from their perception of perfection.

When it is the repeated posting of the exact same post/graphic/argument that has been posted on dozens of other threads, and when it does not address the points of the article, then yes, it ~is~ spam. I am not a Giuliani supporter, but I do find some of the repetition to be tiresome. My opposition for Giuliani is predicated mostly on two things:
- As Mayor, he sought to use executive power to restrict firearms nationwide, despite a lack of legislatively-granted authority to do so.
- He has not repudiated nor apologized for such actions, and as such I see no reason to believe that he would not, if elected, use the office of the President likewise.
I don't fully trust Mitt Romney, but at least he's trying to say he's on the side of gun owners; if he gets elected with their help, I would expect him to be loath to stab them in the back. I have no such confidence in Rudy Giuliani.

At least Sean Vannity is consistent...he will shill for ANY New York City politician. Last time it was for his good friend Chucky Schumer, this time it's a Republican. I guess that makes him an equal opportunity shill.

If Rudy is President and push comes to shove over a high court appointment, how long will it take Rudy to cave?
Imagine Harry Reid and company demanding that Rudy name a moderate to the court, Rudy will cave in a minute. It will make him more popular with democrats when he does this. He will then realize this will help him in a second term.
Rudy is just a Dirty Democrat, nothing more.
BTW I see McCain caving as well. We also don`t know how Mittens will perform either.
Some of you here are willing to sell your souls on the chance that Rudy MIGHT name a good judge. Probably what will happen is that Rudy will lose, and then we will all agree that you sold your souls and Americas future.

If Rudy is President and push comes to shove over a high court appointment, how long will it take Rudy to cave? I think you would be surprised at how stubborn Rudy can be. He didnt back down when Arafat came to town. He also refused the Saudi Prince's check shortly after 911. He has also made a big deal about who he would nominate to the court and unlike McCain, I dont see him backpeddling on something that major. That would be like Bush deciding to cut and run in Iraq.
