It may not be a bad thing to keep forever. Very, uhm...pithy. It precisely and effectively takes out its intended targets.
A moderate populist conservative is better than what we've got in the White House right now, which is an open-borders, unlimited amnesty, globalist who-knows-what.
I don't get what you think is so "immoral". What exactly do you think Christians base their principles on?
The woman was 35 years old. If she had been 15, that would be a problem.
any candidate we sent up, we need to be asking:
- what state could/can he win that Bush didn't win in 2000/2004?
- can he win Ohio?
if we can't accomplish any "takeaways" from the Dem column that Gore 2000 and Kerry 2004 got, and we have to place all our chips on Ohio again - that prospect scares me.
This is just one blast-from-the-past. Shall I find another?
LOL! Whatever happened to Fred Grandy?
You posted a claim by a columnist that runs 180 degrees counter to the facts. Fred Thompson was known by everyone in politics as a pro-choice politician. If he's changed, I would say that you and his supporters need to provide the proof of that.
Don't know very much about him yet.. but I'm glad to see another candidate stand up.. We need some better choices than what seems to be heading the class right now.. who knows, there was once another actor who turned out to be a very good President..
Yeah, and Hildy's model of a 20-year younger wife doesn't work for everyone. I, for example, am 33. You just can't do that sort of thing on this continent.
I better stop now. There are a few on this thread that take this stuff VERY seriously this far outand here I am being shallow and irreverent. :-D
Whatever. The vast bulk of the conservatives in the GOP moved solidly into the Bush camp after McCain won NH. The thought of Thompson's bosom buddy as our nominee moved them.
Understood. But I think if you compare McCain's support today with what it was in 2000, before campaign finance reached Bush's pen, you will find CFR the determining factor in his current ailing campaign.
The biggest is that he is a bit "nutty", he doesn't seem to have the temperament to be President.
Which makes me wonder why Thompson saw anyting presidential in John McCain back then--enough to sign on as his campaign co-chair.
Who's nuttier? The nut, or the guy who follows the nut?
;-)
Yes, Howlin, how dare you post evidence? Don't you know you're just supposed to pull your opinions out of your...hat?
Counter to YOUR facts maybe.
I hope you realize that that article you linked was written in 1996; the one I linked to you was posted in 2006, yet you claimed it wasn't true (which will be big news to Human Events, one could assume).
Using your logic of once you're supported it, it's etched in stone, let me be the first to tell you that that reparations things is gonna be a bitch when Keyes tries to jump in.
Well theoretically you could, but you might have to be president of the ACLU to get by with it.
Thompson left the Senate to do what he's doing now. He didn't care about having power when he left. The worst people to have in charge of anything is somebody that wants power for personal reasons, like Mrs. Bill Clinton.
OK....
Let's game this thing out, shall we???
Thompson is a face and voice known to the SHEEPLE, who can stand in front of the camera and say things you will genuinely BELIEVE, even if it isn't what you want to hear, vs. Hillary/Obama and the smear Machine...
He secures the South, and Romney as VP gives us traction in the Northeast. Rice would be a BETTER VP, and would pretty much ASSURE a Republican win..
Thompson comes off as Reagan-Part Deux, and I honestly think he's best (only????) hope of taking back Congress, and keeping the White House at this point...
Putting it ANOTHER way, he's the ONLY candidate I'd be willing to open my checkbook for, at this point....
You are so funny! "Damn the fact-torpedos, full steam ahead!"
Don't you like the way some posters speak as if they speak for ALL conservatives?
"can he win Ohio?"
Ohio may WIN ITSELF for us...
Democrats are fast pushing the NAZI agenda there, and the people are starting to get up about ALL the current crop of politicians...
