Senator Thompson, if you're reading this:
PLEASE RUN FOR PRESIDENT!! Your nation needs you.
(and pick Newt as a running mate...)

He'd have my vote. Perhaps a Thompson/Hunter ticket?
Even Hunter/Thompson would be better than any other combo I can think of.

He is pro-life, pro-family, pro-traditional marriage, pro-Second Amendment and pro-free enterprise. Covers a lot of the main voting issues.

The more I hear about Fred Thompson, the more I like.
The only knock I see on him is that he doesn't have a lot of "executive" or foreign policy experience. He wasn't in the senate long (but a lot longer than Barack Obama) and didn't hold any other offices.
But he speaks well, is well-known, is TRUSTED, and a solid conservative.

Look at post 6 for another good belly laugh.
I like Hunter, but I'm not too confident he can win. The primary that is - I think he'd kick a$$ in the general.

Perhaps a Thompson/Hunter ticket? I could go for that. Because I certainly don't feel good about any of the current three front running RINOs. And it's looking like McCain is losing steam, so it will soon be down to Rudy and Mitch.

Ok, I have it all figured out. Cheney resigns because of the blood clot. Fred is picked for the new VP, and is easily confirmed. Duncan Hunter joins the ticket for 2008 and we are off to the races. You read it here first.
