She knew exactly what she was doing. She lives for confrontation and negative press. She will get invited onto all the talk shows to defend this statement.

They are way over sensitive and I think what she said is funny.

I think it was bad form on Ann's part. It was calculated behavior on her part.

Blogosphere Is Quick to Criticize Ann CoulterLive by the mouth, die by the mouth.
But, hey, Ann, if you need mouth-to-mouth, cell me...
To: Pyro7480
Are these bloggers right in criticizing Ann Coulter, or is it a case of being over-sensitive because of the expected criticism from the Left?
They're being way too sensitive. They need to abandon their womanish ways - they're acting like faggots.

You asked -- "Are these bloggers right in criticizing Ann Coulter, or is it a case of being over-sensitive because of the expected criticism from the Left?"
Well..., it's all about image. She could have said the same thing to the same people, apart from a public stage and they would have been laughing their heads off. But, in the public glare, they're running scared of the "f*gs". What a bunch of weenies... What can you say?

Ann Coulter's style is certainly not mine ... but the quivering squeamishness of these commentators is over the top.
The upshot is that one is not allowed to express any disapproval or disrespect toward homosexuals.

Reminds me of Sean Penn's famous line: "They're all fags, mannnnnn !!!!!"
To: Pyro7480
What does anybody go to hear at an Ann Coulter speech? They want something provocative. They want her to push the envelope. When I see equal protection for Conservative Straight White Men as far as public criticism in speeches, then I will worry about someone calling someone a faggot.

I wonder what would have happend if she had said "girly man" instead of "faggot." I don't think these people would have reacted the same way.

It was a joke.
Do we have to worry about offending someone every time we open our mouths?
You know Ann wouldn't say it without calculating the reaction and it looks like she got what she wanted.
Who cares what the left says, we can't do anything right by them anyway and why would we want to make them happy?

I too run against some of the FR grain....I understand and actually agree with Ann's underlying concepts but have always thought of her as crass and over the top.... She is just too crude and though it has made her millions, I would not emulate her.....ever....
To: Pyro7480
I would have said "pansy".
To: Pyro7480
Ann's a stand-up comedian, not a commentator. No one takes Dennis Miller seriously, so why does everyone listen so intently to Ann Coulter?

The Captain of Captain's Quarters opined Yeah, that's just what CPAC needs -- an association with homophobia. Nice work, Ann.
