Like almost all cult leaders, Al Gore is a hypocrite. And the Global Warming cult is beginning to make Scientologists look sane in comparison.

Rachel Carson. Heavy sigh. She was from Pittsburgh, and when I was in HS one of my teachers (older, former nun, turned Feminista) KNEW her (wow!!!). It was the early 80s and we had to read Silent Spring. Discuss Silent Spring. Do posters about Silent Spring, etc. Like mosquitos absent DDT, Silent Spring was everywhere in my HS. Later on, as an 'honor' for a hometown girl, one of the bridges in Pgh was renamed for Carson...great read from Ann.

The last line is a screamer, but of course in reality the animals would be eating them.
Also, the rednecks will simply shoot them before they go for any of this. That hasn't dawned on them, either.

A few tidbits from the pathetic Left ...
We should facilitate, instead of foolishly and vainly endeavouring to impede, the operations of nature in producing . . . mortality; . . . Instead of recommending cleanliness to the poor, we should encourage contrary habits. In our towns we should make the streets narrower, crowd more people into the houses, and court the return of the plague. In the country, we should build our villages near stagnant pools, and particularly encourage settlements in all marshy and unwholesome situations." -- Thomas Malthus, 1826
Allan Chase, The Legacy of Malthus, University of Illinois Press, Urbana, IL, p. 6.
"I do not pretend that birth control is the only way in which population can be kept from increasing. There are others. . . . War . . . has hitherto been disappointing in this respect, but perhaps bacteriological war may prove more effective. If a Black Death could be spread throughout the world once in every generation survivors could procreate freely without making the world too full." -- Bertrand Russell, 1953
Bertrand Russell, The Impact of Science on Society, Simon and Schuster, New York, 1953, p. 103.
"It's terrible to have to say this. World population must be stabilized and to do that we must eliminate 350,000 people per day. This is so horrible to contemplate that we shouldn't even say it. But the general situation in which we are involved is lamentable." -- Jacques Cousteau, November 1991
Bahgat Elnadi et al, "Interview: Jacques-Yves Cousteau," The UNESCO Courier, November 1991, pp. 8-10.
"Population pressures on our planet are real and getting worse every day. Whether it is traffic congestion, urban sprawl, rain forest depletion, overfishing, global warming, pollution, famine, war, or terrorism - the problems are made worse, and more difficult to solve, by overpopulation. . . . We're heading on a collision course toward a population crisis that could deepen this nightmare - not only in the developing countries of Africa, Asia, and Latin America, but right here in the United States." -- Zero Population Control, March 2005
Population Connection letter, March 2005, 1400 Sixteenth Street, NW, Suite 320, Washington, DC, 20036

"It's been scientificaly and historicaly proven that planet earth has periods of global warmings and coolings every thousand years. The human involvement has nothing to do with it. "
The fact that the planet has warmed and cooled in the past does not prove that humans are not responsible for warming this particular time.

Bush should go on TV tomorrow night and thank Al Gore. That's right, in front of the entire nation, he should praise Al Gore.
Then he should announce that we will embark on fast tracking 50 Nuclear power plants over the next three years and will be putting a 3 dollar per gallon import tax on Venezuelan, Rusian and Iranian oil. Then put a coal tax on China and build clean burning coal plants here.
Then watch the lefties jump off buildings as Bush's scientists say that this alone will lower emissions by 25% over the next four years. Oh, and Newt will support it and take it down another 25% for four years after that.
Without raising taxes.

It's not just the Malibu left that thinks this way. Hordes of ordinary democrats feel exactly the same way. They have watched too much TV where every problem is solved by a whiz kid in the last 15 minutes of the episode. They have no idea that most technical problems take teams of highly skilled specialists months to accomplish.
To: Tymesup
The fact that the planet has warmed and cooled in the past does not prove that humans are not responsible for warming this particular time. But it makes a hell of a case that Al Gore and his friends have yet to DISprove.

Agreed they have the burden of proof. We need to avoid making statements that we haven't proven, either.
Rush had been saying that if we can't predict the weather, how can we predict the climate. He had an expert on today that corrected him on this.
Cool name you got there.

There was more energy consumed in the manufacture, construction and maintenance of Leonardo DiCaprio's Malibu home than is needed to light the entire city of Albuquerque, where there are surely several men who can actually act
Let me know if you'd like to be added to the Ann Coulter ping list.

Due to the scant evidence, none of which is irrefutable, to support a 'global warming caused by humans' mantra, one may say liberalism needs a mythos to sustain it's irrational perspectives. Hmm, I wonder, does that make al gorghoul a high priest in the cult?

He had an expert on today who AGREED with him on his take on the fakery of global warming.

You're a daydreamer, I see.
To: altura
That would be an expert from NASA, calling in from Huntsville, AL. The most salient point the expert made was the lack of input to the warming/cooling debate on the precipitation cycles of the planet ... has anyone ever inputted the amount of cooling or carbon sequestering resulting from x number of feet of snow or y inches of rain? No, so the entire data mass is totally inadequate for the conclusions dolts like the weather channel face made recently.

Somebody let me know when GW is an officially recognized religion so I can form a 501(c)3 Non-Profit Organization and separate all these true believers from their money.
A tithe on their incomes shouldn't be too much of a burden for their beliefs.
