"abortion in one way or another is unfortunately never going to stop."

That's the spirit. Just like those who say "immigrant" without the word "illegal" in front of it, you and your other Rudy RINO supporters like to ignore the word "legal" in front of the word abortion. Abortion is murder, whether it's in a hospital or in a backroom. We can stop some of this, but not if people come up with the most stupid excuses.

"Oh gee, people are going to get backroom abortions anyway, so let's do nothing about making abortion illegal." DU-sickening mentality. This is a conservative website. Take your abortion excuses elsewhere.

I think you're wasting your time hating Rudi over this issue. Let's talk about muslims wanting to behead us.

Let's talk about innocent, unborn babies having scissors shoved into their skulls - because they are AN INCONVENIENCE.

Pro-life is one of the main reasons I became a Republican - there are many Republican candidates that can fight the war on terror - Rudy is not the ONLY one. Murder is a big deal with me - whether muslims or mothers are doing it. This is where I take a stand.

"I am SO SICK of the abortion issue being the decision factor when it comes to judges and politicians."

That is precisely what gave us 40 years of Democratic control of Congress and the Supreme Court. It also gave us 50 million dead babies.

OK so all you have to do is find a candidate to beat him. Should be easy.

We are in agreement, except that I cannot vote for Rudy under any circumstances, even if he was running unopposed!

"The 'serious pro-lifers' you speak of, that don't vote for a candidate because their 'one' issue wasn't satified are selfish. They could help elect a democrat and bring this country down ever further."

What about your one-issue philosophy?

i am just sick to death of being told to forget about abortion and worry about the WOT, when i live in an area seriously infested with terrorists and those telling me what to worry about, probably don't! i am not convinced rudy will be the nominee, i am not even convinced hillary will be the nominee. and i sure as heck am NOT convinced that rudy beats hillary in such a matchup. but that being said, i can't stay home, i can't pull the lever for a dem, and i consider third parties anathema and always have.

But you don't get to chose "someone else" only a NAME. That is where your hope gets smashed.

The courts and the states control the abortion issue not the President.

There's quite a bit that the President can do on the abortion issue. Here's SOME of what recent Presidents have done:

President Ronald Reagan 1981-1989:
“My administration is dedicated to the preservation of America as a free land, and there is no cause more important for preserving that freedom than affirming the transcendent right to life of all human beings, the right without which no other rights have meaning.” -President Ronald Reagan

President George H. W. Bush 1989-1993
“Since 1973, there have been about 20 million abortions. This a tragedy of shattering proportions.”

“The Supreme Court’s decision in Roe v. Wade was wrongly decided and should be overturned.” -President George H.W. Bush

President William Clinton 1993-2001
President Bill Clinton said he has “always been pro-choice” and has “never wavered” in his “support for Roe v. Wade.” “I have believed in the rule of Roe v. Wade for 20 years since I used to teach it in law school.”

President George W. Bush 2001-Present
“The promises of our Declaration of Independence are not just for the strong, the independent, or the healthy. They are for everyone -- including unborn children. We are a society with enough compassion and wealth and love to care for both mothers and their children, to see the promise and potential in every human life.” -President George W. Bush

I am a serious pro-lifer, as you call them....

..I will never....I repeat...never vote for anyone who is pro-abortion.

And I am still amazed at those on this forum who consider this position ...for a candidate ...insignificant.

You call us 'selfish'.....

..50 million aborted babies....and you call us 'selfish'....

Alice, I'm with you 100% and I see 50 million reasons while I'll continue to think this way.

RINOitis is a liberal sickness and it has infected Free Republic.

However, even against Hillary, I won't vote for Rudy

Wow, that leaves me speechless. To think that a percentage of Republicans will take this route terrifies me.

Face it.....abortion in one way or another is unfortunately never going to stop. I think you're wasting your time hating Rudi over this issue. Let's talk about muslims wanting to behead us.

Why not support a Republican candidate who is pro-life and who will defend us from terrorists?

When that time comes, if the choice in November, 2008 election is between Rudy, Hillary and a third party ticket, I know which one would be most popular especially if the third party candidate was pro-life, pro-2nd Amendment, anti-illegal immigration, and opposed to homosexual unions.

I didn't say we shouldn't try to overturn it....so hold back your hate. I'm saying it should not be the top priority issue in a President....esp. in this day and age when we at war.
Do you preach abstinence by the way?

To think that a percentage of Republicans will take this route terrifies me. Rest assured, they will. Why do you think that the NYT and WP are pushing so hard for him?

Gun owners are not going to allow Hillary to take power. They know very well what that would mean to the Second Amendment protections.

Rudy Guiliani is not the only candidate who can fight the War on Terror - almost ALL of the Republican candidates are strong on this issue as well. I repeat - Rudy is not the only "saviour" that can lead us on this issue. Why are you so hung up on him?

Yes...I am waiting for Duncan Hunter to become as popular as Rudy so he can beat the witch. I really hope it happens.

A large percentage, and that is why Rudy cannot win.
